Can a cocker spaniel dog eat apples for a treat?

Any naturally grown fruit or vegetable is fine for animals in moderation. For example, my dog loves string green beans from the garden. She also loves fresh carrots. You can give the dog a small piece from the inside of the apple (not the skin, I don't trust skins) and see if he/she likes it. If he/she does, you can give a tablespoon size a day. It is also good for dogs if you give them one raw egg (not the shell) mixed into 1 cup of whole milk. For smaller breeds, only every other day or twice a week. This mixture will help their skin and coat. SHINY!! :) Hope this helps.

What is easier to train cavalaier king Charles spaniel or American cocker spaniel?

Both the Cavalaier King Charles and the American Cocker Spaniel are very trainable dogs. But how capable an owner is in doing the training is also part of this equation.

If you've never trained a puppy or dog before, you would get the best results by enrolling in a dog obedience class (or Puppy Kindergarten) so that you can get a little instruction in how to train your dog.

What is the largest a Cocker Spaniel can get?

Male Cocker Spaniel dogs can be up to 15.5 inches while females can be up to 14.5 inches tall at the shoulder. Anything larger than that height is considered bad and would disqualify the dog from showing. Show standards are the ideal standards for the breed.

== == as most medical treatments are tested on animals, we give our husky paracetamol every now and then and she seems fine i breed dogs and have owned many animals over the years. the vets use medication that is often generic human medication - read the boxes, the often give human doseage too. i recommend doing a bit of research into NSAIDS, (never ibuprofen). my VET told me to buy OTC medication codine based pain relief tablets.

Your 10 year old cocker spaniel pops when she walks why?

I have a Cockapoo with the same problem. I took my little guy into the vets and it's the 'knee joint' which pops out of the socket (it's common in cocker breeds.) Sometimes the vet may wait a little if the dog is younger to see if it will pop back in and stay there, but if it doesn't it's time for surgery. My guy Booker T is 2 years old and the popping is getting less, but I'm having him x-rayed to see what is going on and if need be I'm getting Pet Medical and having the operation done. When you first see the vet ask them if they would please not put down on the dog's file what you came in for. This way there is no record so if your dog needs surgery on one or both legs you can get Pet Medical Coverage (will have to wait approximately 3 months for it to kick in) and will help a great deal with the cost of surgery. They are sure worth it. If Booker T doesn't stop popping permanently soon then I'm going through with the surgery.

How long do menstrual cycles last for cocker spaniels?

For female dogs, their "season" lasts three weeks. The first week they may or may not have a discharge. During the second week, usually the week they can become pregnant, they will have a discharge. some females have more of a discharge than others. Then the third week. The discharge subsides, changes color, and/or stops all together. Your female may mate all during this time. This is normal.

How much does a puppie cocker spaniel cost?

a GOOD cockerspaniel puppy usually costs about 100-1,000 or more dollars. I would NOT get one at a local petstore (no matter how cute they look) because most of those dogs are from VERY abusive places called puppy mills (the stores even lie sometimes, saying that the dog isn't from a puppy mill when it really is), and you usually pay way to much for them, and sometimes, they arent even pure bred! Rescue cockers are the best way to go in my opinion :) they are cheaper, too. usually from 50-300 dollars.

How long do cochlear dogs live?

The cochlea is a part of the dogs inner ear. It is not a breed of dog. You may be thinking of the Coton de Tulear. A medium sized white dog. The Coton can live 14 - 20 years.

The Coton de Tuléar has a medium to long, fluffy, cotton-like coat that is considered hair rather than fur.[2] It is a non-shedding breed with low dander. Like the poodle or Havanese (thought to be the Coton's.(Wikipedia)
