What is need of RAM if Rom is there?

Information stored in RAM can be accessed far faster than information stored in ROM. Thus, a computer might store its boot-up instructions in ROM, but store program files in RAM after initial boot-up.

Can you put game files on the sandisk cruzer crossfire?

yes, just make sure the entire program file for crossfire is on the sandisk.

What is a RAM slots?

A RAM slot or what is sometimes called an expansion slot is a rectangular slot that is built into the motherboard. A RAM slot is used to place expansion cards in it, such as RAM cards to increase the amount of RAM that is on the computer. The main purpose of the RAM slot or expansion slot, is just for the user to be able to increase the amount of RAM on their computer.

In school today your USB broke All of your data is in there When you put your USB in the computer nothing happens is there any chance you can recover it?

Assuming the computer isn't recognising the USB drive then not without specialist help. The data is probably still okay on the drives memory chips. Its most likely that the controller chip and/or the internal connections are damaged.

Try and find someone with some decent electronics skills to take a look at it for you.

What is auxiliary memory give an example of auxiliary memory?

The major difference between main memory and auxiliary memory is that main memory is directly accessed by CPU but the auxiliary memory is not accessed by the CPU directly. For this the data is first transferred to main memory from auxiliary memory and then from main memory the data is transferred to the CPU for further processing.

Some examples of auxiliary memory would be disks, external hard drives, USB drives, etc.

When you reboot your computer do you lose any information?

Only information that you have not saved to a non-volatile medium. Non-volatile media are media that retains information when powered off, such as flash drives, hard drives, and floppy drives. On Linux the /tmp directory will also be cleared on reboot.

What does prefetch 2n mean in regards to a ddr memory module?

DDR1 has a prefetch of 2n, which means it can store 2 bits of data in each prefetch buffer.

How do you transfer selected photos from memory card to computer?

Put the memory card into the computer OR link the camera via USB to the computer. Select the photos you want to transfer by clicking one, pressing control(ctrl), then clicking the rest and then click import photos.

Why do you use mega hertz and gega hertz to measure the speed of the processor?

Turns out that if you put electricity into quertz - Silicon dioxide(thats why the meca of computers is silicon valley)- it shakes hitting sensors in the processer creating On/Off 1/0 binary. The speed at which the quertz shakes is hertz. A single hertz represents 1 bit. so 2 gigahertz = 2,000,000,000 bits of data.

What is a notebook memory?

It is a software sue to plan manage and reach

Indicate how rom and ram differ and why ram is necessary?

RAM is used for short-term storage of data and instructions, ROM is for long term storage of operating instructions. RAM is necessary so you can access any data at any time.

If you type 400 words how many bytes will you use?

Your question used 50 bytes. This answer used 123 bytes. Your Question was 11 words, this answer is 22 words. Go figure!

What is 128mb ram?

It is exactly what it is - 128 MB of RAM.

Is DDR2 DIMMs and SO-DIMMS compatible with DDR?

No they are not compatiable they shouldn't even fit in the same slot due to the gaps at the connectors being different..and even fi you could get them to fit they run using different technology..ddr2 is double the date rate of the ddr..and s-dimms wow havent heard bout them in ages....

What improvements did DDR make over regular SDRAM?

It reads 2 clock cycles

It reads 2 clock cycles, so it runs twice as fast as regular SDRAM. Instead of processing with every beat, it processes at the top and bottom of each beat, thus increasing the speed by 2Xs.

What causes the message 'danger your PC memory is low on resources' and then your PC freezes up?

Simple and Good Answer - I wont delete the older answers lolBasically you need more RAM plain and simple ^^ getting a bigger HDD wont help really lol all you need is more RAM ^^

Best fixes:

1. Buy more RAM

Other Fixes:

1. Increase Paging File

2. Cut down on use of program running in background and foreground

3. Disable unnessecery services etc.

Do Not:

1. Buy new HDD and use more virtual memory as HDD is over 100x slower access than RAM

Extra Information:

RAM - Random Access Memory

HDD - Hard Disk Drive

Answer

This problem usually refers to your virtual memory (a portion of your hard drive that Windows allocates and uses as RAM) this is also referred to as the paging file. In the Windows system settings there is an option to increase the size of the paging file.

AnswerGenerally when you get that message it is generally just that "Low on resources". Typically I see machines that have very little hard drive space remaining exhibit this problem. I generally recommend that at a minimum 10% of the total drive capacity remain free in order for windows to operate properly. Another cause could be low RAM. Depending on what Operating system you have minimum recommendations will vary. Generally, I recommend 64Mb for Windows 98, and 256Mb for Windows 2000/XP. 2000/XP will run on less but not very well. If you can start by cleaning up your hard drive, empty all Temporary Internet files. "Right click the Internet Explorer Icon and choose "properties"" The option will be available on the first tab. After you do this proceed to delete all files located in any "Temporary" directory. Such directories can exist as follows "C:\Temp" or "C:\Windows\Temp", or "C:\WINNT\Temp" etc. Hopefully this is a start to correcting the problem.

Answerneed to get more memory. says it is low. theres gotta be some thing easy to get more just don't know much about computers. Answerwindows seems to have a little problem ,showing that message, especially if trying to view a downloaded video or copy downloaded vid to a disk i have 83% of memory empty but i often get that message from windows when doing videos so far windows hasn't or wont supply a remedy or reason OuchWindows doesnt have a miracle remedy for this particular problem. Might want to free up as much space as possible or invest in a 5 gig 6200rpm or even a 7200rpm hard drive(im not sure if they make 5gb in those speeds, i don't think they make 5gb at all anymore) just to set it to be a Page File. So when you run out of RAM while running other processes the 5 gb hard drive now turns into a extremely(in comparison to a real stick) slow 5 gig stick of virtual memory to allow Windows to run smoothly. So instead of buying that 512mb DDR PC3200 stick of ram, you can spend about 20 bucks(max) and be set if you are just watching Videos and stuff like that. As to how to set a HD up as a total page file. Im not sure off hand ATM, but it is easily found through a search engine or dabble in Wiki Answers for a explanation. Its simple as reserving a designated amount of space to be used for Windows and Windows Processes. Im hoping you have at least 256mb of RAM for XP(RECOMMENDED RAM info credits to Shawn). With the service packs and security measures of the current windows, its extremely rough to have just 256, im going to have to go with 512 as a minimum if you want to keep up to date and still run smoothly.

How do you replace sdram into ddr?

In order to upgrade SDRAM with DDR, you will need to replace your motherboard. DDR uses a different slot than SDRAM, so if your motherboard is using SDRAM currently, you will most likely have to replace your motherboard in order to make your system support DDR.
