YES! Fainting is a warning sign of potentially serious side effects. The drug labeling indicates possible association with sudden death, stroke and heart attack.
Fainting, shortness of breath and chest pain are all reasons to contact your physician promptly.
What is a safe cough medicine for a 6yr old to take while on Concerta 18mg?
My son has ADHD and he uses Delsym with no adverse affects. It does not interrupt his sleep either.
Yes, Concerta is time-released methylphenidate. Methylphenidate is a psychostimulant and will cause hyperactivity in high doses; if you take Concerta for ADHD consult your doctor about your dose, as it may be to high.
Can you take oxycodone and depakote and Concerta?
Generally, you should not unless specifically directed by your doctor.
Would Concerta or focalin cause less anxiety and mood swings than adderall?
hi, i think conerta gives u less mood swings then adderall xr. atleast that was case with my daughter. she was very moody and crying all of time on adderall xr. changed her to concerta, she totally different. different med's work differntly on people. you just have to try them with the doctor's help Addition to Answer - The original answer is spot-on. Sadly, treating ADHD in both kids and adults requires trial and error to find which of the 8 or so meds, solo or in combination, that are commonly used work best for each patient.
How many 54 mg tablets of Concerta can you take in 24 hours?
I have taken 8 in the last 16 hours. They don´t seem to be working any more.
I was researching the subject when I found this question.
My doctor prescribed 2 a day
Your son is on 75mg of Concerta XL and you wanted to know if it affects his hormone levels?
yes it does in a way, the medication is used for treating ADHD. it works by balancing the hormone levels. it isn't a change that will be visual it is a mental change. it helps the glucose in your sons system go equaly to every part of his brain. there are many side affects with concerta XL but they aren't severe.
i know this because i am a 16 year old young man with ADHD and i was on medication from the age of 6 to 14 then i came off of it and the change in my behaviour and daily routine was dramatic, i went through school and i barely finished, i was not on medication the whole way through year 9 to year 11 and in that time i got expelled out of 4 schools. in my own views on your son taking concerta XL i think it will be the better decision and i think it will help your son not only now but in the future as well. i am now 16 and i have made it in to college i am already a fully qualified mechanic and i am now at this time taking 98mg of concerta XL and my life is so much better since i started taking medication
your son will be fine on this medication it will be for the better of him
your's sincerly

Is the price of Concerta increasing?
Most definitely, and I'd love to know the reason. I just filled a prescription for my son. The price at Target increased by 28.7% over last year's price.
How do you vaporizer Concerta?
suck off the coating, cut off the "pusher" (gray) piece and get rid of as much of the plastic coat you can. take only the white piece of the tablet, put it in a small ammont of water and microwave for 10-20 seconds, repeat and stirr till its disolved. (ie the same way as if your shooting it) then just pour the liquid in your e-ciggaret and enjoy!
Concerta is speed. Speed is the street term for Ampthetamines like adderall, concerta, etc. It all depends on the way it is utilized. Utilize ampthetamines to get you "high" and yes, it is speed.
Should you take less Concerta if you start taking lexapro?
i would not advise taking any concerta while taking lexapro. I am currently taking lexapro and have taken concerta about 7 times. Each time i took concerta i would hear many scary voices in my head. i looked up the psycotic effects of concerta and they said that a side effect of concerta is hearing voices if you are on an antidepressant
Will Concerta show up positive?
In a drug test? The short answer is yes. If you don't have a prescription, that's a big no-no. It won't test you positive for anything else, however, like the way poppy seeds can supposedly test a person positive for heroine. If you take Concerta without a prescription, that is illegal, and I would recommend staying off of it for about a week before your drug test, although I've heard reports that it can be undetectable within 48 hours.
Is it unusual to be prescribed Strattera Concerta and Wellbutrin for ADHD?
From a medical standpoint it is not uncommon for a combination of medications to use used to treat ADHD. A combination of Concerta (methylphenidate), Strattera (atomoxetine), and Wellbutrin (bupropion) is somewhat odd but not extreme. Both Concerta and Strattera are approved to treat ADHD, Wellbutrin is not although there is some evidence it can be helpful in people with ADHD, particularly those who fail to adequately respond to stimulants.
It is perfectly appropriate and fairly common for two medications to be used at one time, typically a stimulant like Concerta and either Strattera or Wellbutrin. It is not unheard of for two stimulants like Concerta and Adderall to be used together or for Strattera and Wellbutrin to be used together. Often adding either Strattera or Wellbutrin in a conventional stimulant like Concerta can provide better symptom control.
Concerta and Strattera have no significant drug interactions however both have some interaction with Wellbutrin, which may increase plasma concentrations of Strattera and there is a slight increase is seizure risk when combining Concerta with Wellbutrin. However the risk is very minor and people with no history of epilepsy are unlikely to have a problem. Risk of seizure when taking Wellbutrin is typically about 0.4%.
Simply put there is no medical reason all three medications can't be used at the same time although it is, as it always is, important to monitor for side effects. But using three medications is uncommon however doctors are able to prescribe unusual combinations of medication because some people require a more novel treatment.
As always if you have any concerns or side effects please tell your doctor. Do not increase, decrease, or stop medication without talking with your doctor.
Anecdotal answer
No. But if you really have a concern you should consult with the prescribing doctor. You could be on one of the medications until the others kick in. Or you could simply be taking a low dose of all 3. From the Wellbutrin (and not being a prescribing doctor) it's hard to tell what the direction is here... you could have been given the Wellbutrin to offset side effects, or to work with one or both of the other medications. Wellbutrin does have stimulant properties, more so than Strattera, however neither drug has stimulant effects like Concerta. If you are not feeling comfortable with these medications be sure to talk with your doctor. Only he can explain his reasoning or he may change the prescription altogether. As far as being a weird combination... no it's not.
What is street value of Concerta 36mg?
you can sell a 36 mg Concerta for $3-$6 per pill depending on where you live and how stupid/inexperienced your buyer is
Can poping Concerta get you high?
Great idea i must say. Go mad on them..... NO not really I was looking at the side effects and to be honest theres safer drugs to get high on than Cocerta. eg. vomiting, depression, suicidal ideation. I think you'd be better off leaving these in the bedside locker.
What are the side effects of taking Concerta and accutane together?
accutane and concerta will both do damage to the liver, it is not advised to take both of these jointly for the possible magnification of hepatic cell damage, even with high dose of vitamin E to counteract some of the damage to the liver it is still an extremely high risk. Accutane and Concerta are both controlled substance for a reason, and such means extreme caution must be exhibited when taking not just one of these drug, but more when taking them together. Topical retinoids with Concerta would be less devastating to the body then with oral retinoid Accutane. I would advise you and your physician to exhaust topical retinoids before putting you on the oral isotretinoin, vary strength and vary type of retinoids in conjunction with antibiotic regiments might fix your problem, but if such have been exhausted, which is usually the reason why accutane begins to appear in treatment suggestions then I would first try do low dose Accutane, maybe 10mg, or 20mg, per day, and see how it fair with the Concerta. Or on the other hand maybe lowering the frequency or dosage of the concerta might fair well with the individual as well. In other word its sort of a trial and error thing when using these two together to limit the prevalence of side effects, its always better to start as low and possible and work your way up, for some side effects might be permanent, and the best way to avoid such is to be safe as possible with using low dosage before elevating to higher concentration of any of the two drug independently or together.

Is Concerta and amphetamine or methamphetamine relate if so how?
Concerta is a mthylphenidate. It has similar properties as amphetamine.
Can you take Concerta and 5-HTP?
My doctor said its ok and none of my research online has shown any reason why it would be dangerous. As it affects different neurotransmitter systems there should be no interaction.
Personally, its the only way I can take Concerta (36mg). Without 5htp I get anxious, antisocial and suffer from tics (exessive blinking). It also helps me "shift gear" and not get so stuck on one thing. It seems that the resulting rise in serotonin has a balacing effect on the increase in dopamine/noradrenaline.
Note that I am and adult and 5htp might well have different effects on the brain of a developing child. Rather check with your doctor to be sure.

What side effects and benefits should you look for when taking Concerta Prozac and Straterra?
If you are using Prozac and Strattera together, you need to talk to your doctor, as this combination can cause serious side-effects. Read your Patient Insert that came with your Straterra, it covers the use of Prozac and Straterra together. Hope that helps.
Concerta is being passed around my school. . .most people think that if you take it you will be hyper and more alert. . .this may be the case in some people. . .however for some people side effects are great and horrible. . .I took 2 Concerta and got light-headed first, then the dizzyness came and the stomach aches. . .dry throat but too much saliva in your mouth. . .uncontrolable shaking and definite insomnia. . .loss of appitie and hallucinations. . .i am not a trained physician. . .but because of my size the side effects were very different that they are for most. . .the other 2 that took it with me were perfectly fine, yet another person that took the same amount claims his heart stopped. . .i would NOT recomend using this drug. . .its side effects SUCK
What happens when you take Klonopin Wellbutrin and Concerta together?
Well, that specific cocktail is what I'm taking. The Wellbutrin was prescribed to deal with a dopamine (lack of reuptake) issue, and the klonopin is, I imagine, the other half to even things out at night. Wellbutrin can make you a bit edgy. The Concerta also works on the dopamine in the brain, and should be what allows you (and me) to focus. All three in theory help to alleviate depression, as well. To explain my situation so you can perhaps compare to yours, I first became uncharacteristically depressed. While I had bouts of 2-3 day depressions in the past, they were mild and were always triggered by an event (a fight, etc.). This was an out of the blue thing. I finally had to see a doctor. We ruled out thyroid (my family all suffers from thyroid conditions, except for me). The GP thought perhaps I had a chemical imbalance, specifically bipolar disorder and sent me to the psychiatrist. I should mention that my mother and I share the same doctor (GP) and since he knows she's bipolar, he diagnosed based on that and my immediate symptoms. The psychiatrist didn't feel bipolar was the issue, but he saw the ADD right off. That's the way I've always been, though, so I focused on this sudden and unrelenting depression (bouts of crying, just a mess for no reason). So he prescribed Wellbutrin (300mg) in the morning and .50 mg Klonopin as needed at night. After about a month and a half (I was really just about completely normal after a month) he decided to treat the ADHD with the addition of Concerta. I honestly don't see what the big deal with my ADD is, since I've lived with it forever not doing too badly (but I suppose not as well as I might have). The doc, it appears, feels otherwise and sees the depression and ADD/ADHD as related and once again, the reuptake of dopamine in the brain is what all three are meant to work on. So I guess that's the root of the problem and what the combination of drugs is supposed to treat. Sometimes I know they substitute Adderall or Ritalin for the Concerta, and while Wellbutrin and Concerta are a common combination, the Klonopin seems to depend on the person and the doctor. I honestly believe the Klonopin is to take you down a notch at night since Concerta and to a lesser extent the Wellbutrin act as stimulants.
Concerta is a form of ritallin better known as methylphenidate. A standard drug test usually tests for amphetamine (speed) and methylphenidate allows for a false positive to be read.
How long does 34 Mg of Concerta take to get out of your system for a clean ua?
it takes about 1-2 weeks
CONCERTA® uses osmotic pressure to deliver methylphenidate HCl at a controlled
rate. The system, which resembles a conventional tablet in appearance, comprises
an osmotically active trilayer core surrounded by a semipermeable membrane with
an immediate-release drug overcoat. The trilayer core is composed of two drug
layers containing the drug and excipients, and a push layer containing osmotically
active components. There is a precision-laser drilled orifice on the drug-layer end
of the tablet. In an aqueous environment, such as the gastrointestinal tract, the drug
overcoat dissolves within one hour, providing an initial dose of methylphenidate.
Water permeates through the membrane into the tablet core. As the osmotically
active polymer excipients expand, methylphenidate is released through the orifice.
The membrane controls the rate at which water enters the tablet core, which in
turn controls drug delivery. Furthermore, the drug release rate from the system
increases with time over a period of 6 to 7 hours due to the drug concentration
gradient incorporated into the two drug layers of CONCERTA®. The biologically inert
components of the tablet remain intact during gastrointestinal transit and are
eliminated in the stool as a tablet shell along with insoluble core components. It is
possible that CONCERTA® extended-release tablets may be visible on abdominal
x-rays under certain circumstances, especially when digital enhancing techniques
are utilized.
The mean half-life of CONCERTA® is about 3.6 hours.
