How does the US stop China’s Coronavirus?

User Avatar

Asked by Wilton Blanda

The US is currently doing everything to stop the spread of COVID-19. They have closed schools and public places, only keeping essential places open (e.x., supermarkets and pharmacies). They have told everyone to stay home, especially if you are sick. They have been saying to not touch your facial area with unwashed hands (eyes, nose and mouth, since COVID-19 can get through those areas and into your lungs), avoid contact with people who are sick, wash your hands regularly, clean regularly touched objects in your home, and cover your coughs and sneezes NOT WITH YOUR HANDS, but with your elbow.

What are your best tips for staying sane while social distancing?

User Avatar

Asked by Sammy Beahan

The tips from experts (you can read the CDC's here) generally include taking breaks from the news, keeping a routine, exercising, picking up hobbies, and virtually chatting with loved ones. For me specifically, virtual book club has been my personal savior. Having something to read and people to keep me accountable, plus having a reason to take really overkill notes on what I'm reading, plus having a virtual meeting to look forward to has all been really helpful.

Why is everybody so worried about the new Chinese Coronavirus, COVID-19, if SARS was more virulent?

User Avatar

Asked by Josie Sporer

Because Trump is trying to handle this outbreak- now pandemic- himself, rather than letting the esperts at the CDC handle it- the premier disease mangement agency in the world. Without the CDC, there is no other system in place because this system works. Without the CDC, we have missed the time to catch COVID-19 early. In contrast CDC handled the SARS in 2002 and EBOLA in 2014, and all the others. They have done an amzing job keepiing us safe. Without the CDC, we have no system. Today we must create a new system for everything involved in addressing this pandemic. Trump continues to look to anyone except the CDC to take charge of this pandemic. That is why the healthcare workers and local politicians are so frustrated with the federal leadership during this occurence. It is interesting that Trump has made no effort to re-establish the CDC Pandemic Team, and is cutting the whole agency further at the same time that we are firghting this pandemic (they are cutting our other safety agencies, too.) We'll be paying for this choice for a long time, and can expect frequent recurrences, unless we regain our respect for our experts who keep us safe everyday.

Huanan seafood market, in the capital of China’s Hubei province, Wuhan.

Known to be a ‘wet market’, where live wild animals were being traded, it’s thought the virus somehow ‘jumped’ from an animal to a human host. But how did this happen… and in which species did it originate?

How much do you think the media is overblowing Coronavirus?

User Avatar

Asked by Melvin Bayer

There are so many facts that dispute the "pandemic" actual force because the media is overblowing that one simple fact explains why: In 2016, a study by the Center for Public Integrity showed that 96% of campaign donations by journalists went to Hillary Clinton, compared to just 3.5% which went to Trump.

While coverage of President Obama included 59% favorable content among the 10 news outlets compared to 41% negative,

coverage of President Trump has included a whopping 80% of reporting that is negative in tone, with just 20% that is positive.

See this web site: public Integrity for link.

What are the covid challenges on financing for infrastructure projects?

User Avatar

Asked by resurgentindiaseo

The novel Coronavirus that originated from a small place in China, has resulted in disruption in the everyday routine all over the globe. As per the recent data, it has claimed the lives of about 12 lakhs people of all age groups. It has also had a disturbing effect on all aspects of our life. A country like India with a developing economy has been one of the worst afflicted during these difficult times. This has also made it difficult to procure financing for infrastructure projects. An increasing rate of unemployment, along with the unexpected recession, could be observed due to the lockdown that has lasted for over three months. This increase in unemployment has been there mostly in the unorganized sectors due to the discontinuation of transport services, termination of government services, and closing down of factories.

Does the Coronavirus 19 concern you yet?

So far my opinion is that it is like a weak hurricane. The panic caused by the media will cause more trouble than the illness. Not to say the illness isn't a problem, but the common flu still seems more dangerous on a worldwide scale.

Can chamomile tea help fight the Coronavirus?

User Avatar

Asked by Blaze Goldner

Maybe but unproven. Extracts of a closely-related plant 'Anthemis Hyalina' were found to reduce levels of coronavirus to undetectable levels when added to cell cultures in the laboratory in a study published in 2014 (…. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3933739/). The mode of action was thought to be related to something called 'Transient Receptor Potential (TRP)' proteins, found on the surface of many of the body's cells and involved amongst other things in detecting certain tastes. Interestingly one theory about the antiviral mode of action of quinine (closely related to hydroxychloroquine, a drug being trialed against Covid-19) is that it's bitter taste also affects TRP proteins in a manner that has an adverse effect on microbes. It's all very speculative, however.
