Is using a credit card safer and more convenient than carrying cash or checks?
Yes and no. Credit cards are more convenient when you need something, or you can't pay for something (at that moment) with cash. With a credit card, you can keep buying, but with money - once you're out of cash, you can't buy anymore.
However, it's not because in the long-run, you have to pay via cash anyways (referring to having to pay creditors), don't forget interest!

In the United States, most rental car places do not require a cash deposit - unless your history with them is dismal. Rental car companies prefer having a credit card number on file - this allows them to add additional charges to your bill if you don't adhere to the contract you signed. For instance, if the car comes back dinged or dented, the rental car company can charge the repair cost to your credit card number. If you refuse to pay, that's between you and the credit card company - the rental car company will be paid by the credit card company unless you protest the charge as fradulent.
Can you sue a credit information bureau for incorrect information?
Unless you can prove that the bureau singled you out in order to ruin your reputation as a borrower (which is highly improbable no matter how you feel about the bureaus) you cannot sue the credit bureau. You can, however, request that incorrect information be removed from your record. If the creditor that you feel is fraudulent cannot provide records to prove that you are behind or have the account, the credit bureau will remove the item from your report...
If you do feel singled out by one particular bureau and want to obtain credit, then ask the to-be-creditor to check your report from a different bureau and not from the one you feel has fraudulent information. They might concede with your request if they feel the situation is extreme enough...

What are credit card processing fees?
Each time a merchant processes a credit card transaction they will be charged a fee by the Payment Processing company. These fees are almost always a percentage of the sales and can range from a little less then 1% to as high as 6% depending on the type of credit card the customer presents for payment, the volume of sales the merchant uses and the contract they have signed with the payment processing company. Additionally, there may also be a flat fee charged for each transaction as well plus the percentage of the sale, but in this case the percentage is usually much smaller.
Many merchants do not accept certain credit cards because they simply can not afford the high processing rates. For example Gas Stations may only have a profit margin on selling fuel of 3%-5% so if there American Express processing fee is $0.50 + 4.2% of the sale, they are actually losing money when you pay for a tank of gas with an American Express.
Everyone also needs to understand that all of the so called "Premium" cards that offer the consumer rewards, points or rebates when using their cards have a much higher processing rate associated with them. You didn't think your bank was actually paying for any of this did you?

Most of the time, the bank puts a limit on your debit card like 500 or 1000 dollars. If you remove the limit, then the only thing that would regulate the amount of money you can spend with the card would be the amount that is in your account. If you spend more than you have the banks murder you.
