How do you become a judge in Canada?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

First Get your Law degree. Then do that for a couple of year (make sure that you keep your name in the good books) then ask to be a judge. Remember that Judges are never elected of appointed by the "Canadian Citizens' but rather the Judicial Board (this is to insure that Judges are not bias).

Also this is a really good job for money, most Canadian Judges start at $260, 000.00 a year. From that it can go to $10, 000, 000.00. The Government pay's them this so it insures that bribery doesn't happen.

If you have any more questions, try going through the Try Judging, or the SSSI Program.

What is a Police Officers job?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Police officers are directed to pursue justice, and for some that means a speedy drive to get the bad guy who is suspected of wrong doing, but human error can happen. When it doe's, an innocent person or law enforcement officer can be injured or killed. Police pursuits have long been the center of attention when it comes to the media. Should we chase, should we terminate, should we only chase for serious crimes, etc. It seems no matter which route the Police choose, they end up getting the blame for the outcome. To many of us (may be because he is the only one we know) is Johnny Cochran Without a doubt, Perry Mason. Bruce Cutler was pretty good. He kept John Gotti from ever going down until the Federal Prosecutors found a way to separate the two of them in trial.

I think its a toss up between Gerry Spence, Johnny Cochran, Edward Bennett Williams and Ryan Blanch.

What do judges do?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Judges interpret laws and issue orders for the enforcement of laws. In criminal courts, judges watch over trials to make sure that the lawyers follow the rules, and in many cases, judges decide how long somoeone goes to jail. Judges also make orders to force poicemen to behave properly and follow rules. If the policeman does not follow the rules, a judge might decide to let the accused criminal go free. In civil courts judges also watch trials and make sure that they lawyers follow the rules. Judges also sometimes decide who is right. They do this when the people who are suing each other agree that they do not want a jury to decide. Judges can also throw out bad cases like when somone sues someone else for a stupid reason.
