The provide a nutrient rich diet for the many species of fish the feed along the banks and tree roots. If you live on the river, you may notice that during heavy rains the crawfish will actually make there way into your back yard. I'm not sure why they do this but they do. I caught about 150 large crawfish in about ten minutes this morning right out of the lawn. Crawfish boil time!
