Flappers were women who wore there boot straps undone. As a result the the belt like straps flapped as they walked, giving them the nickname Flappers. This was only for a rebellious stage for women which later on became a historical movement, that even Amelia Earhart supported.

Flappers had bobbed hair cuts and wore shorter skirts with a lower hem line which made it easier to dance to the new styles of music they had in the 20s such as jazz. Flappers smoked, drank, cursed, voted and went to petting parties. They called it the new women. They wore lots of makeup and highly educated people called them the lowest degree of intelligence.

There was not an official wage for workers, as minimum wage wasn't established until 1938.

Radio shows back then were mainly music shows, operas or radio dramas or comedies. What you could do is check newspapers on microfilm at the library and see what was listed. They used to list all the shows on the dial for decades.

The general cost of living rose dramatically in the early 1920's. This is what was known as the Great Depression which affected the economy of the world.

Advertising has had impact from the moment it was first used to introduce the masses to consumer goods. In the 1920s advertising reflected the feeling of the era by the way it was designed and how well it was used to promote the good times of the day.

Some signs that American businesses in the 1920s were experiencing success was workers no longer being subject to standing in ration lines. Another indication of success was with the new inventions and advancements that improved American lives.
