There was a variety of different clothing that people wore in 1945. For women, rayon dresses, and small hats were very popular. For men, knickerbockers, tailored suits and plus-fours were popular.

Horse drawn vehicles were still widely used in 1930, but by 1950 they were becoming much less common as trucks and cars became more affordable. Cross country travel would most likely be by bus or train. Passenger planes were available but jets were only for military purposes. Most trans-ocean transportation was by ship, but zeppelins made regular transatlantic flights from Germany to the US and Brazil in the 1930s.

The car is a good invention until the extent of it polluting the planet. The car has been thouroghly improved throughout the decades such as the fact that they are now lower longer and wider. The early 1950s saw the rise of chrome on cars, as it became extremely popular in the U.S.A. (Can't find a tick on the keyboard but it's correct.)

We listened on the RADIO to the "Fireside Chat" with FDR (Franklin Delano Roosevelt). We also listened to soap operas, comedy shows, and news on the RADIO. We played cards after supper and read books. More kids were born to married couples during those years too, so use your imagination on that.
