DIAMOND ARMS CO was a tradename used by Shapleigh Hardware in St Louis for many years. The guns have been made by many different manufacturers over the years and no serial number records exist. Value is uniformly under $100.

Value depends on condtion, how bad you want to sell it, how bad someone wants to buy it, who made it, any accessories, the box, original papers, etc..

Both 'King Nitro' and 'Central Arms Co' are trademarks of the Shapleigh Hardware Co, which was a major catalog retailer from the late 1800's well into the 20th century. The shotguns marketed under that name were made for Shapleigh by different companies, notably Davenport Firearms, Crescent, Hopkins & Allen, and Stevens. This was a trade name sold by Belknap Hardware. Manufacturers included Crescent Fire Arms, Crescent-Davis Arms, Davis-Warner Arms, Iver Johnson, and J. Stevens A&T Co.

Not Much. The Powhatan shotgun, as I understand it, was a "House Brand" shotgun probably made by"Cresent Fire Arms," 1893-1930. To date there are over 100 "House Brand" guns made by "Cresent" that are known about, so the value is not collectible. I have a "Powhatan Arms Co."New Volunteer 12 Ga. that I need a couple of parts for and am having lots of trouble finding anyone who knows about "Powhatan" or "Cresent." Hope I have helped in some way.

Diamond Arms was a trade name used on guns distributed by Shapleigh Hardware of St Louis Missouri. Vorisek's "Shotgun Markings" identifies 7 different makers, but a few can be eliminated as they furnished Shapleigh with only double barreled guns. If the gun is marked only "Diamond Arms Co" it could have been made by Harrington & Richardson (1872-1985), Hopkins & Allen (1898-1915), or J Stevens Arms (1920-1942). The "E" on the serial number indicate H&R manufacture in 1944, but I would not expect the "N" following it.

A new utility single shot costs $89.95. A used one will be 1/2 to 2/3 as much, depending on condition.

There used to be three grades, I, II, and III and they were distinguished by the level of engraving on the receiver with I being plain and III being the most ornate. Now I notice they have a Grade VI and who knows what in between. ".410 or 12MM" and "One Piece Barrel" are marks used by Harrington and Richardson, 1877 to 1985. Diamond Arms was a trade name used by Shapleigh Hardware of St Louis. Your gun probably dates to sometime between the two World Wars.

2000 if in mint condition If less than mint condition, figure about $200 if it is complete and functional, $25-50 if broken or rusty. These were made in Belgium for H&D Folsum Sporting Goods by Joseph Cap or F. Dumoulin & Co around 1900.
