Donald Trump

It's mostly because of how he acts. Remember that time he "mocked" a reporter? And I think I saw somewhere about how all he plans is to become president but he really doesn't have plans to become a good president. People also think he's racist. I think that's why.

Different people have different multiple reasons for hating Donald Trump.

1. Promising things to people and then not properly acting on his promises including:

• Getting everyone universal healthcare
• Fixing Veteran Affairs so that Veterans can go to any hospital and have it covered by VA.
• Making America great again
• Bringing back jobs
• Keeping America out of Middle East wars

  2. Subtly encouraging racism tacitly including:

• Calling Mexicans criminals and racists.
• Encouraging negative racial stereotypes, including those of Jewish accountants.
• Questioning Barack Obama's birthplace and intentions.
• Pretending to not know who Grand Master David Duke is, only half-heartedly denouncing him after media pressure.
• Attacking the Gold Star family the Khans with racist appeals.
• Insulting an American judge and calling them partial because of Mexican heritage.
• Falsely stating that there were millions of illegal voters in the previous election.
• Creating an overall environment where racism is again acceptable, and the belief that people don't have to hold back what they're thinking any more due to fears of it being impolite racism.

  3. Subtly encouraging sexism tacitly including:

• Saying that he grabs women by the pussy and that they let him.
• Objectifying women, particularly with his association with Miss Universe, Miss USA, and lead-up contests.
• Repeatedly using sexist language in attacks against women.

  4. Encouraging a culture of corruption including:

• Ripping people off through Trump University, or multi-level marketing schemes.
• Appointing corporate stooges to key political positions. (Tillerson, Devos, Gorsuch)
• Allowing himself and family members to benefit financially from his position.
• Refusing to release his tax returns for transparency like every other Presidential candidate.
• Admitting to bribing both Democratic and Republican politicians in order to get what he wants.

  5. Weakening America geopolitically by:

• Encouraging renewed ties with Russia despite Russia's refusal to cede invaded land of Crimea (Turkey), Abkhazia and Ossetia (Georgia).
• Creating more terrorists by less discriminately targeting terrorist organizations, leading to a spike of civilian casualties particularly in Syria.
• Haphazardly ordering a SEAL strike in Yemen, leading to the death of a soldier, loss of hundreds of millions of dollars in equipment, and 27 civilian casualties, including American citizens.
• Attacking the trustworthiness of the elections.
• Attacking NATO as a viable geopolitical entity.

  6. Attacking media:

• Spreading a culture of 'fake news' where Trump only acknowledges positive news, treating valid criticism as hate.
• Appointing an attack dog press secretary as well as press representatives who repeatedly mislead the press.

  7. Being a Republican:

• Some tribalist Democratic members hate him simply for being a Republican.

  8. Increasing wasteful spending. Huge extra money spent due to security issues by:

• Using Mar-a-lago as a second White House.
• Melania Trump living in Trump Tower in New York instead of the White House
• Trump's family frequent business travels requiring expensive security.
• Providing tax breaks to people who have done him political favors, eg Carrier.

  9. Insulting soldiers and veterans by:

• Saying he prefers soldiers that weren't captured.
• Saying he knows more than the Generals.
• Launching attacks on parents of Gold Star soldier Humayun Khan, while having no knowledge of what a Gold Star was
• Receiving a Gold Star given to him by a soldier, and remarking it was easier to get it this way.
• Refusing to serve in the military and letting his father pay his way out of service, by paying doctors to get him out of the draft multiple times.
• Haphazardly ordering the Yemen raid, costing civilian and military lives, equipment, as well as the support of foreign governments.

  10. Attacking many government programs people depend on including but not limited to:

• Medicare expansion under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)
• Planned Parenthood
• The EPA
• Public education

  11. Worsening existing environmental problems by:

• decreasing funding to the EPA, effectively neutering them from enforcement.
• encouraging the use of coal.
• reducing funding into clean energies

  12. Being a 'Democrat' or criticizing Republicans:

• Trump has funded Democratic politicians in the past, including the Clintons. There are numerous pictures of him with the Clintons at fancy events.
• Trump has criticized George W. Bush, saying he didn't keep us safe as 9-11 happened on his watch.

There are a variety of reasons that someone might choose Trump.

• They feel they can relate with him.
• They may feel strongly against Hillary Clinton.
• They feel he is the least bad candidate.
• They feel he can help the economy.
• They may appreciate his foreign policy.
• They support the second amendment.
• They may prefer a third party, but know that third party votes are often considered wasted.
• They may just enjoy the drama that comes with Trump.
• They believe Trump is a strong leader.
• They are tribalists who consider themselves staunchly Republican.
• They hope that Trump can and/or will fix particular issues with current governance, including Veteran Affairs and crony capitalism.
• They feel he is the most honest candidate.
• They believe his money makes him better.
