How much drywall do you need for a room that's 1000 sq ft?
You will need three more bits of information.
1. How high are the walls.
2. What is the length of the room.
3. What is the width of the room.
Let me give you an example.
Height of walls = 8 ft.
Length = 50 ft.
Width = 20 ft.
Each piece of drywall is 8' X 4'.
In this case, the height of the walls exactly matches the height of the drywall; so you won't have to make any cuts in that dimension.
Figure out how many sheets you will need for the 50' walls.
50' / 4' = 12 1/2 pieces of drywall.
There are two of those 50' walls; so multiply by 2.
12 1/2 X 2 = 25 pieces.
Now for the short walls.
20' / 4' = 5 pieces of drywall.
Again, there are 2 short walls, so multiply by 2.
5 X 2 = 10 pieces of dry wall.
Add what you need for the long walls and short walls.
25 + 10 = 35 drywall sheets.
Answer: 35 drywall sheets.

Is it safe to have electrical wiring behind the drywall of your shower?
On wiring a house it is common practice to have other circuits in the wall cavity passing by the built in shower stall. Electrical outlets that face outward from the shower stall wall that service another room is also common practice. There is no danger from electrical shock as the shower is isolated from the wires by wall board and usually ceramic tiles that make up the shower stall or in some cases a fiberglass shower enclosure.
Do you mean inside the shower area, or outside the shower area?
It is never safe to have any electrical outlets:There are very strict wiring codes and regulations about where you can place a socket outlet. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR INSTRUCTIONS HERE
BECAUSE YOU NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOB
SAFELY
YOU MUST CALL IN A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN
TO DO IT FOR YOU.
ANSWERIf your question should be read as "Is it safe to have electrical outlets on the other side of a wall to a shower area, such as in a dry room like a bedroom, etc., normally the answer would be Yes, but it is best to check with a licensed electrician to be sure. Always be sure to switch off the breakers at the main panel before you attempt to do any work on any mains power circuit.

This is something I wondered when I gutted my fiberglass shower enclosure and noticed that there was an electrical box behind one of the walls servicing a hall light switch and yet another box on the back wall behind the shower enclosure serving the light fixture and exhaust fan to the master bath. It doesn't feel right to have electrical so close to water. In my townhouse they only used gypsum board behind the fiberglass enclosure with no plastic vapor barrier. So, I have to think about how to remodel the shower with these two electrical boxes in the mix.
Mice and rats...same difference. But they can and WILL eat through ANYTHING....cement...drywall...wood...ANYTHING....rats and mice have VERY LONG sharp teeth, and they are ALWAYS looking for something to "file" down their teeth. Actually it's very unhealthy for a rat or mouse to NOT file their teeth. Hope this answers your Q.

If you get dry wall wet is it dry wall or wet wall?
The old labor intensive way of putting up walls had wet plaster attached to and around slats of wood (called lathing) where it dried into a wall.
The current technology uses large panels made of dry plaster like material called Dry Wall attached to wall studs by nail, screw or glue. Another name for Dry Wall is SheetRock. It should be kept dry. Once it gets wet, it loses its integrity and it is no longer viable. It is no longer Dry Wall or Wet Wall but it is Garbage.
Dry wall would technically be wet wall anyways considering how you need liquid to be able to make it. BTW, I am an 8th grader from 2017-2018 and will be in high school from2018-2019.
