You have got a bad earache what should you do?
Lay on the side opposite of the ear that hurts. Then heat up a tiny bit of vegetable oil for about 10-15 seconds, then pour into aching ear, lay for 10 minutes. Flush out ear with luke warm water. Then clean out with some q-tips. And your ear ache should be gone.
These are the exact symptoms of the flu. I've had it as recent as late 2008 and as far as i know, that's it. Possibly a cold. To treat it, w/o pills, eat foods that are rich in nutrients to assist your immune system, which will weaken as time progresses otherwise. Before you sleep & 1st thing at day, drink hot tea. To make it, use honey and lemons which will coat the interior of your throat & ward-off mucus. Heat it and drink as hot as you can stand. Drink orange juice from a carton (not a clear container b/c light eliminates some of its nutrients). Avoid being exposed to air when your hair is wet. & do some daily exercises to build strength (few push-ups, jogging). When you have a cold/flu you need for your immune system to be stronger when its done, so these things will not occur as often. -
The most likely guess is recurrance of the Strep. There are quite a few strains of Strep that are paritally or completely resistant to normal antibiotics -- see Methacillin Resistant Stapphlocuccus epidermis (MRSE) or Methacillin Resistant Stapphlocuccus aureus (MRSA) The same can apply to Streptococcus. Give a call to the doctor who prescribed for you the first time, and tell him it didn't work. He may want to see you, buyt he'll certainly prescribe something else. If you repost, please include the name of the antibiotic you were taking.
It's probably swimmer's ear....you need to get it checked and they'll more than likely put you an antibacterial ear drops..until then..DO NOT put anything in the ear including Q-tips. Q-tips are bad because they probably caused the infection anyway. Avoid getting the ear wet in any kind of way.
Hello, over march break I had a sore and swollen throat which made it hard to swallow but to make matters worse I had a gum infection. Mr. Dr put me on some antibiotics and they swelling went away I have just finished my antibiotics and the pain has come back. It has been about three to four days now and the pain seems to get worse at night. The right side of my throat is sore and rather tender and this is causing me to have some pain within my right ear. I am having trouble sleeping. Also it feels like there is a lot of mucous and flem build up at the back of my throat but it is too painful to cough it up? What is most likely the issue and whats some ways I can get temporary relief?
I suffer from this same strange occurance, although I experience it in my left ear. In the morning I wake with sometime dull, and sometimes piercing earache.
I saw a local ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor) about it who did some testing and said it was likely just my anatomy. Even though he had discovered my left tempanic membrane doesn't push out when I plug my nose, close my mouth and breath forcefully into my ears. (AKA the Valsava Maneuver.) He tested my hearing, found it was fine, and called it a day. Never addressing the ever present morning earache. I had a great ENT in Washington, D.C. and wish to get a second opinion from him some day.
What I have found to give me some relief is to blow forcefully into my cheeks. It gives a weird sensation in my middle ear and sounds like someone is crumpling up saran wrap in my eardrum. What I do is blow into my cheeks while closing my mouth and putting my closed fist against it (much like people do when coughing). You blow hard until you feel your masseter (jaw muscle) expand, which will likely be sore and ache a bit but only on the affected side, and then you hear that crinkling sound.
If you ask me, I think it is some type of obstruction or disfunction of the eustachian tube. Almost like stale air sits in there, or maybe the tube doesn't stay closed when it is suppose to thus not protecting the middle ear. The obstruction could be the parotid gland or a tight masseter placing pressure on the eustachian tube. It could even poor lymph drainage in the area. All theories of mine.
Thanks for asking the question. I would love to hear an ENT's opinion of this.
7/31/2010 - ............or, it could just be that your pillow is getting old, lumpy, and stiff, causing pressure on the outer ear cartilage. It's a common thing to happen. Get a new pillow. They also make posture specific pillow ear/donut pillows.
How can you solve an ear ache problem?
To address an earache, first, identify the cause, which could range from an infection to allergies or sinus issues. Over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help alleviate discomfort. Applying a warm compress to the affected ear may also provide relief. If the pain persists or is accompanied by other symptoms like fever or drainage, consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation and treatment.
What kind of earache lirio leaves extracts heal?
Lirio leaves extracts are traditionally used in some cultures to alleviate earaches caused by infections or inflammation. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of the extracts may help reduce pain and swelling in the ear. However, it's important to consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment of ear-related issues.
Can an earache last for a period of time longer than 2 weeks?
Yes, it can. My current earache has lasted for 2.5 weeks so far! From what I've read on-line, though, this seems rare. Also, the infection has cleared up so my doctor doesn't expect it to last much longer.
When water goes into the ear and stays there. When you dig the inner ear with a key or any other sharp object.
Sounds like a good reason to visit a doctor. If I had to guess what caused it, I'd say you were hit in the head. Though if that was the problem you'd not likely be asking. Ear ache, eye pain, pain on right side of the face (or the body it's not clear) could be a lot of things, even high blood pressure, but perhaps a sinus infection could have these symptoms also.
See a doctor - it could be serious, or it could be simple, but getting it checked out is the best answer.
- I have the same problem it just appeared right now I have pain on the right side of my head/face with ear ache and also in my right eye (started in my right eye) and after i had a nose bleed. Answer me if you went to the doctor and if is serious so i should visit mine. Thank You.
Earache is mainly due to problems in either the outer ear (from the earlobe to the eardrum) or the middle ear (behind the eardrum). In some cases, problems in the throat or the mouth, such as tonsillitis, can also cause earache.
Listed below are some common reasons for earache.
Ear wax
Ear wax can gather in the ear canal (auditory canal). Eventually it can form an ear plug, which impairs hearing and may cause pain.
Using a cotton bud doesn't help because this usually only pushes the wax further inside the ear, doing more harm than good. It also carries the risk of perforating the eardrum.
A plug can be softened with a little olive or vegetable oil. Drops can also be bought at the chemists that are designed for this purpose.
The practice nurse at your doctor's surgery may syringe the ears by flushing out the ear wax with water.
Inflammation of the middle ear
Usually earache starts further inside the ear. Inflammation of the middle ear is the most frequent cause and is often (although not always) due to an infection.
Because of increased pressure in the middle ear, the eardrum is stretched and swollen. This impairs hearing and is painful.
Mild painkillers such as paracetamol can be used if the pain is severe.
Antibiotics may also be prescribed. However, the role of antibiotics is still uncertain. They probably do not offer any benefit in the majority of people with inflammation of the middle ear, and often are associated with side effects.
Can a sinus infection or an earache cause the right side of your head to hurt or tingle?
Yes. If that's what's going on, see a doctor.
longer than 5 days that's for sure
