Does being out in the wind make a earache worse?

possibly, because the wind may make your ears pop and that usually causes discomfort especially if you already have an earache then most likely it will make it worse. usually it just depends on how sensitive your ears are. if your ears are not very sensitive then your ears may not pop but if you have sensitive ears then your ears will more likely pop especially if the wind is uneven to both of your ears, for example, if you are riding in a car and the window on one side is open even just a centimeter and the window on your other side isn't open at all then that is most likely to make your ears pop because the pressure is uneven.

Stuffy nose shortness of breathe tight chest sore throat headache chills and earache what could this be?

This is clearly a bacterial infection of a short-term nature. The only way to confirm that it is viral is with a gram positive smear. If you smoke, then stop. If you use sinus spray too often, stop and see a doctor right away. A foreign invader has entered your body via the respiratory tract and your body has done all it knows how to do to fight it. Shallow breathing means that it may have entered your lungs and it is in the upper lobe(s) of the lung tissue, your body wants it to go no further down. Once the problem goes deeper, it dictates that more powerful (and expensive) drugs be used to treat this. Your doctor will at first try a Z-pack (Azithromycin administered over 5 days). After that, it depends on how well the doctor stayed awake through lectures on treating bacterial insults.

How do you get rid of earache?

Treatment for middle ear infections (acute otitis media) involves home treatment for symptom relief.

Your doctor can give your child antibiotics, but ear infections often get better without them. Talk about this with your doctor. Whether you use antibiotics will depend on how old your child is and how bad the infection is.

Follow-up exams with a doctor are important to check for persistent infection, fluid behind the eardrum (otitis media with effusion), or repeat infections.

  • If your child has ongoing ear pain, a fever [101°F (38.33°C) or higher], or is grumpy or vomiting after 48 hours of treatment, see your doctor.
  • Even if your child seems well, he or she may need a follow-up visit in about 4 weeks, especially if your child is young. If fluid behind the eardrum persists for 3 months, the child should have his or her hearing tested.1
Initial treatment

The first treatment of a middle ear infection focuses on relieving pain. The doctor will also assess your child for any risk of complications.

If your child has an ear infection and appears very ill, is younger than 2, or is at risk for complications from the infection, your doctor will likely give antibiotics right away.

If your child has cochlear implants, your doctor will probably prescribe antibiotics, because bacterial meningitis is more common in children who have cochlear implants than in children who do not have cochlear implants.

For children ages 2 and older, more options are available. Some doctors prescribe antibiotics for all ear infections, because it's hard to tell which ear infections will clear up on their own. Other doctors ask parents to watch their child's symptoms for a couple of days, since most ear infections get better without treatment. Antibiotic treatment has only minimal benefits in reducing pain and fever. The cost of medicine and possible side effects are factors doctors consider before giving antibiotics. Also, many doctors are concerned about the growing number of bacteria that are becoming resistant to antibiotics because of frequent use of antibiotics.

If your child's condition improves in the first couple of days, treating the symptoms at home may be all that is needed. Some steps you can take at home to treat ear infection include:

  • Using pain relievers. Pain relievers such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (such as Advil, Motrin, and Aleve) and acetaminophen (such asTylenol) can help make your child more comfortable. Giving your child something for pain before bedtime is especially important. Follow all instructions on the label. If you give medicine to your baby, follow your doctor's advice about what amount to give. Do not give aspirin to anyone younger than 20, because its use has been linked to Reye syndrome, a serious illness.
  • Applying heat to the ear, which may help relieve the earache. Use a warm washcloth or a heating pad. Do not allow your child to go to bed with a heating pad, because he or she could get burned. Use a heating pad only if your child is old enough to tell you if it's getting too hot.
  • Encouraging rest. Encourage your child to rest to let his or her body fight the infection. Arrange for quiet play activities.
  • Using eardrops. Doctors often prescribe pain-relieving eardrops for earache. Don't use eardrops without a doctor's advice, especially if your child has ear tubes. For more information, see the safest way to insert eardrops .

Is earache with vomiting related to post tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy?

yes the earache comes from the scabbing of where the tonsils use to be and the vometing could be coming from taking pain meds on an empty stomache or not enough food in the stomache believe me its better to make food go down your throat with your control than to have it come up with out it

Pain on right side of neck with nose bleeds sometimes and earache?

I believe that these symptoms are not related. The neck pain is most likely from strained muscles, the nose bleed is from blowing your nose too much, and the ear ache is perhaps from unequalized pressure due to a blockage of your Eustacian canal - but all of these are hypothetical diagnoses, and only if you are examined by a doctor can you get a reliable diagnosis.

What causes earaches?

The microbes that cause earaches usually show up first as a respiratory infection in your nose or throat. All it takes is a little push-you blow your nose, you lie down-and the viruses or bacteria move into your eustachian tubes. These are tiny channels that connect your nasal passages to your inner ears. From there, it's a short trip to the middle ear and your eardrum, which is laced with sensitive nerve endings. The infection creates pus, which pushes against your eardrum, causing pain. It can even make the eardrum burst. Children get more earaches because they have more respiratory infections and because their eustachian tubes are immature and unable to handle even a small infection. Other causes of earache include swimmer's ear, which can happen when excess water is trapped in the ear canal. Earaches can also be triggered by hair and other objects that get stuck in the ear. Can an earache cause nausea dizziness or fatigue?

It wouldn't necessarily be the earache that would cause the dizziness, nausea and fatigue but rather it is most likely the cause of the earache that is having this affect. It actually sounds like typical symptoms of congested sinuses and a sinus infection. You see the sinuses are connected to the ear via the eustaschian tube. When the sinuses are cognested they create pressure in the head that can cause blocked ears or earaches, and when there is a sinus infection you may eve develop an ear infection. The dizziness can also be due to the pressure that is being created in the head by the sinuses. The farigue is a sign that there is an infection because an infection runs down the immune system leaving your body tired and weak. It also seems possible that the person could have post nasal drip, because of the nausea symptom. You see post nasal drip often occurs when the sinuses are congested. Post nasal drip happens when you can't drain mucus through the nose because your nose or your sinuses are blocked. So the mucus is drained down the back of the throat.

You have terrible earache which travels jaw bone there is too much pressure in your ear and feels as though it needs to pop but it won't can you help?

The combination of your ear pain and the jaw pain could be due to sinus congestion. There are many cases where individuals that suffer from sinus congestion also experience pressure in the ear, with earaches and even jaw pain. The earaches could even be an infection in the ear due to blocked sinuses. There are several self-help tips you can use to drain your blocked sinuses:

Using a saline solution to drain trapped mucus.

Taking a hot shower or placing your face over a how bowl of water- this will loosen thick trapped mucus.

Avoid dairy products and drink plenty of water However I would advise you to use some medication/treatment, as you may also have a sinus/ear infection.

You can use sinus remedy treats jaw pain, ear pain and ear/sinus infections.

Alternatively visit your doctor who will prescribe antibiotics if you do have an infection.

You can also use decongestants

What can you do for a earache naturally?

If it is a minor ear ache they used to say having someone blow smoke in your ear would help and it seemed to. However, I don't think it was the smoke that helped. I think if you have someone blow gently in your ear by placing their open mouth over your ear, the warm air will provide some relief. It always worked for my kids.

How do you cure earache?

I know of an at home remedy for a major earache I had a few months ago.

All you have to do is get an onion, chop it up a bit so that there are pieces small enough to fit in your ear and then put them in your ear. Be sure to have plenty of onion strings ready as the onion juice seems to get absorbed. =/

Though, you only need about half an onion. Then when you find that some of the onions are useless what i did was microwave them to a heat hot enough to sooth your ear. By the end of all that my earache of 4 days was gone in 20 minutes.

The onion juice is supposed to kill the bacteria. But the onion itself is moist enough so you only have to stick some of the actual onion in there to get the effect.

The heat from the microwaved onions is supposed to also get rid of the earache.

Another thing that you could do that i haven't tried if that doesn't work for you, (which it should) is maybe blend some onion. Or use a juicer and put a few drops of that in your ears at a time. But i haven't tried this so....Good luck!

this is not true if you do this you are risking getting a very bad infection along with then having to get your ear syringed or vacumed which is very painful

Why would blockage of the auditory tube produce an earache?

If the auditory tube were blocked, it would not be possible to equalise the pressure on both sides of the tympanic membrane. If external pressure then declines, the pressure in the middle ear would be greater than that on the outside, forcing the tympanic membrane outward and producing pain.
