Original Answer(Just so you guys can see):
Middle Kingdom
My answer:
Though many people may think that china's nickname is middle kingdom, I would strongly disagree. Though the name literally translates to middle kingdom (Zhong(中) -> Middle, Guo(国)-> Kingdom, for a total of Zhong Guo(中国), which is China), Nobody nicknames china like that. They call what is literally called middle kingdom in chinese, china. However, there are a few nicknames for china that stand for their national pride. They are as such: 华夏 (pronounced Hua Xia) and 神州 (Pronounced Sheng Zhou) which can mean divine, or if broken up Godly States (or provinces since it is china). Feel free to add more nicknames!!
I hope that I have not confuse any of you guys :)

What was the highest point in Ecuador?
I think Chimborazo, at 6,268 meters, is the highest mountain in Ecuador, unless there is one that drops into the ocean, and measured from its ocean floor base is technically 'taller'. Chimborazo is also the point furthest from the center of the Earth (since the Earth is wider at the equator). So by that measure, the peak of Chimborazo is the 'highest' point on the planet. Mt Everest is the highest above sea level, Mauna Lea is the 'tallest' (from base in the ocean floor).
Ecuadorian people have a distinctive dress code which is influenced by the cultural diversity in the region. People who know the native dresses well can sometimes tell which part of Ecuador someone is from just by their dress. The men's dress usually consists of a blue poncho, a fedora, or a felt hat and white, and knickers. The Shimba (a long braid that hangs down nearly to the man's waist) is a very traditional piece of clothing. The Ecuadorian woman's dress is the closest to the Incan costumes worn in the Andes. A white blouse, a blue skirt and a shawl is usually worn. Jewelry is very important, layers of necklaces of predominantly gold beads and red coral bracelets are the most common form of jewelry worn by the Otavalo woman.

What does colombia's flag represent?
The flag of the South American nation of Colombia was adopted on 26 November 1861. It is a horizontal tricolour of yellow, blue and red, and has no symbols on it. According to the current interpretation, the colours signify * Yellow - the richness of the Colombian land * Blue - the seas on Colombia's shores * Red - the blood spilled on the battlegrounds by the heroes who gained Colombia's freedom

Stay cool dude. Don't chuck the ice cream.
Better answer: You can climb glacier covered mountains, relax on a beach, take a cruise to the Galapagos Islands, party all night in Quito or Guayaquil, take surfing lessons in Canoa. Ecuador has a huge variety of climates and activities for a small country, in part because the geography is so varied. The average high in the capital, Quito, is just about 68 degree Fahrenheit, while it is much hotter in the rainforest or in the lowlands near the coast.

Why do people cut down trees in Ecuador's rain forest?
Trees in the rainforest are being cut to market the lumber and to clear the land. Those are the two primary reasons. This activity destroys the ecosystem; it transorms into something else. The largest portion of the animals and the plants that lived there and made up that complex web of life will be displaced or simply vanish.
To make furniture, cabinets, paper, and anything else that wood makes. It is a cheap and (at the moment) readily available source.
People cut down trees to grow crops and for land development. Trees help us have homes, paper, desks, pencils, and more. But you shouldn't cut down too many because trees also do good things to our environment. They give us oxygen to breathe and they remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, reducing the threat of global warming.
Here are some estimated numbers:
You need about 8 trees per person
There are about 7 Billion people in the world
We need about 56 billion trees to survive
There are around 5 trillion trees
about 5 billion are cut down every year
around 3.4 billion are planted every year
Just looking at these numbers you can see that sooner or later we will run out of trees. Also these numbers are only for humans to survive, think about all of the other animals in the world. There are also plenty of fires that can burn up oxygen too.
Because they use the land for grazing animals (mostly cows) and sell the wood. Farming is a large part of South America's economy and cows require large spaces for grazing to keep up with the demand for meat.
