Well, I guess people who we label as "emo" are just people who express themselves through how they dress; you could say they are just normal people have guts to push the boundaries of fashion and music. I don't know about other people, but this is how i perceive them. They're just like you and me, I do not have any bias against them any way. I know what you are talking about, well for me, I have certain times when I just feel "emo", you know.... I have my moments when I want to dress in black and put on heavy makeup...
If you feel "emo", just express yourself through how you dress. I don't know what they do, honestly, but I think its along the lines of showing people your emotions without telling them, like how you dress. I think they're just misunderstood.

Emo music is highly underground, "dead" if you wish. In '04 - '06 both Dashboard Confessional and My Chemical Romance was labelled emo, but they don't really fit into the genre. Real emo music is stuff like Sunny Day Real Estate, American Football and Texas is The Reason, but they were active in the '90s.
