Your coin would simply be called a 5-pfennig piece. Germany never used coins called "nickels". That's American and Canadian slang for those countries' 5-cent pieces.

It's worth about 12 US dollars. For an old coin they are fairly common.

First you need to check the back, above the "DO" in DOLLAR, for a mintmark. There may be a small "O", "S", or "CC" there. There may also be nothing there. In average circulated condition, with a "CC" mintmark, it's worth $80-$100. With any other (or no) mintmark, it's worth $8-$10 In almost uncirculated condition, with a "CC" mintmark, it's worth about $200. With any other (or no) mintmark, it's worth about $15 An uncirculated coin will be worth about $400 with a "CC" mintmark, $40 with an "O" mintmark, or $20 with an "S" (or no) mintmark.

I think i am in the right position to answer your question because i am french. I think your coin is quite valuable because of its age. Although i am not a coin collector so i cannot tell you how much it is worth . If I were you I would keep it because it won't be worth more than 100 USD, and it is really a nice and original key ring.

helvetica means Switzerland, even today our currency has the words "confoederatio helvetica".

This was an extremely common circulation coin until 2002 when Germany switched to euros. At that time it was worth about 5¢ in US currency. It has no added value as a collectible except in uncirculated condition, in which case it might sell for all of 35 cents.

The pre-civil war (1934) Spanish 5 Peseta coins were made from .900 silver. From 1949 they were made of Nickel until switching to an alloy of Aluminium and Bronze in 1989, which was used until they were replaced by the Euro in 2001.

Assuming this is a circulation issue coin from Panama, the balboa trades at par with the U.S. dollar so your quarter-balboa coin is worth 25 cents. Note that the "v" is a stylized use of Roman orthography, which did not have the separate letter "U" and used V as both a vowel and consonant. A number of older U.S. coins also have the same usage.

This is a coin from the Ukraine. The words are not "ykpaiha konihok" but rather "УКРАЇНА КОПІЙОК" which is in the cyrillic alphabet, and would be pronounced as "UKRAINA KOPIYOK." You didn't state the coin's denomination, but it is either 25 or 50 Kopiyok (1 Kopiyka, 2 Kopiyky, 5 Kopiyok and 10 Kopiyok coins were not produced in 1995). There are 100 Kopiyok to the Hryvnia, and there are about 8 Hryvnia to the US dollar as of mid-October 2009, so the exchange value of the 25 Kopiyok is about 3 US cents and the exchange value of the 50 Kopiyok is about 6 US cents.
