Several different countries, France (Republique Française) , Switzerland (Confoederatie Helvetia) and Belgium (Republique Belgique) to name but three, used or still use (Switzerland e.g.) the Franc. But numerous French-African provinces used the Franc. 2) It also depends on the material: Silver, Billon (a silver and copper mixture to describe it simply), Copper, Copper-Nickel or other material. 3) The final question is the condition - is it very worn ? Well circulated? Hardly circulated ? Mint state ? How has it been stored since you received it ? Coins should never simply be chucked into a box along with other coins or metallic object because this causes scratches, and also contaminates other objects with dirt, sweat (acid !) from fingers and verdigris which could lead you to looking in the box one day and finding nothing but a pile of rotted metal.

During 1948-50, coins were struck in huge quantities to help restart Germany's economy following WW2. These remained in circulation up till the euro was introduced in 2002. A 5pf piece might retail for 60 to 75 cents in average condition.

There were actually 6 different designs of 10 Deusche Mark coins minted in 1972 in honor of the games, and each were produced at 4 different mints. This is a coin from the Ukraine. The word is not "konihok" but rather "КОПІЙОК" which is in the cyrillic alphabet, and would be pronounced as "KOPIYOK." There are 100 Kopiyok to the Hryvnia, and there are about 7.88 Hryvnia to the US dollar as of late February 2012, so the exchange value of the 5 Kopiyok is less than 1 US cent.

The value of a 1992 5 Kopiyok coin is, according to the Standard Catalog of World Coins, about US$0.65 in Uncirculated condition, and less if circulated.

As to numismatic value, it depends on the year and the condition, but the coin you are referring to is a 20 rappen coin from Switzerland (there are 100 rappen to the Swiss Franc). As to foreign exchange value, 20 Swiss rappen equals (as of March 5, 2009) about 17 US cents.
This is a Switzerland 20-Rappen coin, and retails anywhere from about 25 cents to five or six dollars, depending on condition.

If you're referring to the coins, no. 1, 2, and 5 cent pieces are made of copper-plated steel. 10, 20, and 50 cent coins are made of a brass alloy. €1 and €2 coins are bi=metallic, combining rings of brass and copper-nickel.

A USSR (СССР) 1962 20 Kopek (КОПЕЕК) coin, uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $1.50 USD. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch up to $0.75 USD. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation.
