It was an awful song by Alexander Rybak of Norway in 2009. The Fanthomas episode the Fiddler goofing on Rybak was amazingly funny so it evens things out just a "bit".

How do you participate in Eurovision?
Any country that is registered with the European Broadcasting Union can enter an act. The country picks a singer/band and a composer (although sometimes they are the same). This can be done one of two ways. The act can either be picked by the Broadcasting company or some countries hold talent competitions for the public to pick the act.
