Meiosis aids in evolution because it does what?

Meiosis is when the male gene and the female gene combine chromosomes to make a child or offspring.

This increases the diversity of genes in an individual, and allows that diversity to spread through the population, thus effecting evolution.

Were all races originally black?

Yes. All humans were once adapted to life in Africa where all our distant ancestors used to live. Protection from UV-light is important, although pigmentation has costs. As groups of humans migrated from Africa to colder areas with less sun they needed more clothes for warmth. Since sunlight is needed to convert cholesterol into vitamin D3 there was a selection pressure for pigmentation to lessen among these populations. At the same time the selection to maintain pigmentation to protect against UV-light was reduced.

The blond extremes are (originally) found in northern Europe and on the British isles. Areas withvery little sunlight due to a northern location and the massive onslaught of clouds from the Atlantic weather systems.

The genetic diversity is still largest in Africa, meaning the two most distantly related humans today are both living in Africa.

What is dragon - ball evolution about?

Dragon Ball Evolution is set in: Dragon Ball - Demon King Piccolo Saga.

Even though its not from the actual storyline, It's about a Teenager named Goku being trained by his Grandpa Named Gohan. However on his 18th Birthday, Grandpa Gohan is killed by Piccolo and Goku seeks revenge.

What important element of evidence or observation did Darwin's theory of evolution lack?

A mechanism of heredity. Darwin's concept, panspermia, was based on a blending of factors he called gremules that originated with either sex and were in the blood. This was shown to be completely wrong by Mendel's work on particulate inheritance.

Can a species remain unchanged for hundreds of thousands of years according to evolution?

In theory, they can remain unchanged for their entire existence. However, in practise, nature isn't so nice and evolution happens eventually.

Was the final solution directly linked to eugenics national destiny and darwinian evolution?

No. Adolf Hitler's Endlösung was the product of an insane brain, inspired by a long religious tradition of anti-semitism that goes back centuries.

A phylogenetic tree that is rooted is one?

At whose base is located at the common ancestor of all taxa depicted on the tree.

How did Darwin attempt to determine how modifications of a species are accomplished?

He didn't understand how modifications of species occurred. His theories have stood the test of time when the actual mechanisms were discovered. Further scientific evidence has overwhelmingly proven his basic ideas were correct.

Isn't evolution just a theory that remains unproven?

Evolution is a scientific theory. It is important to qualify the theory as 'scientific', because when people use the word theory in 'normal' conversation, they mean a hunch or a guess. Scientists have a word for that. In science, this type of intelligent guessing is called a hypothesis. A scientific theory, however, carries much more importance. Scientists do not lightly assign the term theory to an idea. There are many experiments and observations by many scientists over a large span of time.

Every idea starts as a hypothesis in science. Then the hypothesis is tested by many people for a long time (decades in the case of evolution). During this time of testing (which in the case of theories is always ongoing), if all of the evidence agrees with the hypothesis, the hypothesis graduates to a theory. However! Scientists are skeptical people and they will not be satisfied unless they CAN DISPROVE THE THEORY. Yes. Scientists do everything in their power to prove theories INCORRECT! They have been unsuccessful proving the theory of evolution wrong and as such the theory of evolution remains the champion theory for the amount of supporting evidence.

The reason that scientists call it a 'theory', is the same reason that scientists call gravity a theory. The cell theory, for example, states that all cells are the basic unit of structure in every living thing, but scientists cannot test every living thing to check to see if there are, indeed, cells in every living thing: Living things have been around for a long time and the larger amount of them have died; not to mention the fact that there is more life on this planet than could be studied by all of the 6.5 billion humans combined; there is also the chance idea that life could be elsewhere in the universe. However, there hasn't been a living thing so far, that has been found that wasn't composed of cells. Just like there hasn't been a case where gravity hasn't caused an invisible pull between two celestial bodies. The same is true with evolution. For example, one of the driving forces of evolution is natural selection. So far, the most critical scientists have been unable to observe any living thing that is immune to the effects of natural selection.

In short, the 'Theory' of evolution is as factual as the theory that your body needs nutrients as an energy source for survival. Is it true in all cases... so far the evidence says 'yes'. What are the problems associated with animal survival in terrestrial environments?

Some problems associated with animal survival in terrestrial environments include competition for resources such as food and water, predation, habitat destruction, and exposure to extreme weather conditions. Additionally, diseases and parasites can pose a threat to animal populations in these environments.

How could you determine the exact age of landfill layers?

You could determine the age of a landfill layer by carbon dating food that was found in the layer. Or checking the date on the newspapers in that layer.

What was Patrick Matthews theory of evolution?

It was exactly what he named it (Matthew 1831) in 'On Naval Timber and Arboriculture' 28 years before Darwin (1859) replicated it in the Origin of Species, namely The 'natural process of selection'.

Both Darwin and Wallace fully admitted that Matthew discovered the concept. Thereafter, Darwin started mythmongering about Matthew's ideas being in an obscure book and solely in its appendix, and claiming no naturalist had read it. Darwin claimed no prior knowledge of Matthew's ideas (Wallace kept silent on that one) and Darwinists credulously swallowed those myths hook line and sinker. They simply took Darwin's word for it. So much for nullius in verba!

Few people have read Matthew's book. But if you read it -- as Darwin obviously did pre-Origin, you'll see for yourself that we are celebrating a counterfeit genius on the back of the £10 note! Dr Mike Sutton (Dysologist).

Is it correct that life evolved in the Cambrian and humans evolved in Africa?

While it is certainly true that life diversified significantly during the Cambrian, it did not originate in the Cambrian, but roughly three billion years before that. And yes, the first populations of anatomically modern humans are thought to have emerged in Africa.

What is a trans-species jump?

it is when a virus changes its natural host to a new host. ex. from an animal to a human.

When did the first fossils form?

The oldest known fossils are up to 3.5 billion years old.

What type of diagram do scientists use to show how species are related?

Wherever they're found, all living things are related because they all share a common ancestor. To show how species are related, scientists create diagrams called cladograms. Like a family tree, a cladogram shows close and distant relatives. Scientists call the family tree for all species on Earth the "Tree of Life."

What is the mechanism of evolution?

The main driving mechanism of evolution is natural selection. Though genetic drigt and gene flow can also cause evolution.

What effect might antibacterial soaps have on the evolution of bacteria?

Provide a selective environment where those with resistance survive and replicate and those without die off. Gives rise to resistant bacteria.

What does evolve means?

It means came into being over time by the processes of evolution, as set out by Charles Darwin.

What are the 16 different organisms that represent the evolution from cell to human?

the 16 different organisms that represent the evolution from cell to human are EUKARYOTE, PROTO-CHORDATE, CHORDATE, CRANIATE, JAWLESS VERTEBRATES, JAWED FISH, LOBETIN , LEOBETIN TETRAPOD,TETRAPOD, AMNIOTE, SYNAPSIDE,MAMMAL,PRIMATE, GREAT APE, HOMINID, and last HUMAN.

What are three examples of environmental changes involved in evolution?

Three changes are probably global temperature change(Ice Age,NOW), and...nothing else. This is most likely the only environmental change that affects evolution.

Jean-baptiste lamarck proposed that organisms have what?

he proposed the organisms pass on "acquired characteristics" such as playing the piano.
