This is one of hundreds of names used for guns made by Crescent from 1890 to 1950. Sorry, some are impossible to narrow down due to lack of records. Serial numbers were not required on rifles and shotguns by US law until 1968.

There have been several different Swiss Army rifles, so you will need to be more specific. One of the more popular Surplus rifles from Switzerland is the K31 rifle. Serial numbers are marked on the bolt, the magazine, and the front edge of the receiver, just ahead and to the left of the Swiss Crest stamped on top of the receiver.

This is a very interesting rifle. Notice I did not say air rifle. When Daisy developed this rifle it was for the air rifle market. It used a propellant mass as a charge. it was about to go into mass production when Senator Kennedy was shot, because of the backlash from the public Daisy stopped production after making 25,000 models, The model years were 1968-1969. (Daisy dropped the project all together.) There were three versions of the rifle. The standard version was the VL and 19,000 VL's were made.

It used a 29 grain bullet and fired at 1150 FPS. Very fast for that era. It is considered in it's own class as a firearm and an air gun. cartridges are no longer made for this rifle. (Caseless air-ignited cartridge)

For MOST revolvers- no. MOST semi auto rounds are rimless, and most revolver rounds are rimmed. There can also be a difference in energy- .32 auto is much hotter than .32 S&W ammo.

HOWEVER- there ARE revolvers that were made to use an auto pistol cartridge, such as 9mm Parabellum. There were reports of problems, not highly popular. Some, such as the .45 Colt revolver could be adapted to .45 ACP ammo using a "moon clip" that held 3 of the rimless cartridges.

So it really depends on WHICH revolver and WHICH cartridge.

There were several guns known as British Bulldogs. Most were solid frame revolvers, whose parts are held in the frame by pins/ screws, It is not possible to give specific instructions without knowing the exact make/ model, Take the gun to a gunsmith. Yours will not be the first "gun in a bag" he has seen- but the cost may exceed the worth of the gun.

In a revolver, yes. In a rifle, which will have an actual chamber, I would not recommend it, as the .45 LC would not make the headspace in a .454 Casull chamber.

One that was made in Belgium. What you see is a proof mark. In many European countries, firearms must be submitted to the government proof house for testing (being "proven" safe to shoot). The crown above the letter R was a mark of the Proof House of Liege, Belgium that went into use in 1852 for handguns. Beyond that, it does not tell us anything about WHO made it, or what it is. First, it is a Mauser, not mouser. Value of any gun is based on exact make, model and condition. There were several different versions of the Mauser, and condition can range from Excellent to Junk. Perhaps the most common, a Mauser 98K in good condition would be worth $250-$350.

The bolt is in the closed (forward) position when the weapon fires, as opposed to an open bolt, in which the bolt is in the open (rearward) position when the weapon fires. When possible, clean from the chamber to the muzzle. Due to the design of some firearms, this may be difficult or impossible. Cleaning in that fashion will push fouling/ carbon OUT of the gun, away from the working parts.

The value of a collectible military rifle will be driven- in a large part- by the condition. $700 to $1000 for a good specimen that is still in the military configuration (not "sporterized")

If your rifle is a single shot rolling block type rifle, it was probably made by the J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company. These were made for hardware stores under the Marvel brand, and PROBABLY dates to the early 1900s. Not a great deal of information out there.
