What calibers of lugars were made?
The Luger pistol (check your spelling) was originally made in 7.65 Luger- a bottlenecked cartridge. This later changed to 9MM Parabellum- commonly called 9mm Luger or 9x19. There was a subcaliber insert that could be used for training that fired a very small 4mm cartridge. Lugers have also been made in .22LR, .32 Auto, .380 auto and rarely, 45 auto.
What is the best handgun for a woman?
One of the best handguns for a woman would be the Ruger.
Answer:
You've entered an area where opinions are likely to vary widely.
How you intend to use the handgun is the most important factor in deciding what size and weight handgun you should get. If it is not to be carried but kept in a nightstand or glove compartment I would recommend a larger frame revolver similar to the Smith & Wesson Model model 64 or model 10 (used or new once they are available again) in a 4" barrel.
If you carry it with you and you carry a large purse consider one similar to the Smith & Wesson Model 642.
If you carry a small purse consider a North American Arms model NAA-22LR (short barrel 22 long rifle). Or if you can stand a little more size and weight the North American Arms Black Widow. But, these guns will require more practice to use.
All of the above guns are revolvers. Most people what automatics because they are jazzier looking. That's why you see them on CSI and other TV crime shows. But, revolvers are more reliable (they're almost certain to shoot when you pull the trigger) and easier to learn to use and handle safely than automatics.
I say similar to Smith & Wesson above because I'm not touting that brand, just the type of handgun. Colt, Ruger and Taurus sell good revolvers.
Some generalizations.
Is a model 700 classic 257 Roberts a long action?
Probably. The .257 Bob has a case length of 2.233, longer than the .308 Winchester (2.015). However, on a Model 700, measure distance between the receiver screws. If it is 6.5 inches, THAT rifle is a short action. 7.35 inches, long action.
Where is the primer located on a rifle cartridge?
It is located on the rear of the cartridge. If it is a rimfire, such as .22 Long Rifle, it is in the folded rim of the cartridge. Larger cartridges, such as the 30-30, are centerfire, and the primer is located at the rear center of the cartridge.

How do you install trigger guard on harrington richardson topper shotgun?
Installing trigger guard in H&R Topper 88 single shot shotgun.
I am not a professional gunsmith, so your mileage may vary, but this is how I _finally_ got it done.
1. The "trigger extension, the trigger, and the trigger guard have to all line up together, and line up with the pin holes in the receiver when the pin is inserted. It is next to impossible to get them to line up, and keep them lined up. Before in inserted the trigger guard into the receiver, I lined up the trigger, trigger extension, and trigger guard holes. Then I inserted two small splinters of wood from either side as shims and pushed them in tight until the holes stayed lined up. I cut the splinters off even with the outside of the trigger guard. After I inserted the trigger guard in the receiver, I got the trigger guard lined up with the pin hole in the receiver, then I hammered the pin through and drove out the wedges.
2. There are two opposing springs that fit in holes in the trigger guard. The rear one goes to the trigger. The front spring goes to the barrel break release. Leave the front spring out to start. Then after you get the trigger guard back in, you can hold the barrel break release up and drop the front of the trigger guard down just enough to insert the spring through from the front of the receiver.
When a hang fire or misfire happens immediately eject the cartridge or shell to clear the chamber?
When you pull the trigger and nothing happens you don't know whether you have a misfire (failure to go off) or a hangfire (delayed firing). You should continue to point the muzzle in a safe direction for 30 seconds and then deal with the issue appropriately. Tap the magazine to ensure that it is in place and properly seated, then rack the slide to cycle to the next round. All the while keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction and your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire at your target.
