What makes the flute to make a sound?
When you blow across the embouchure hole, the air that goes inside the flute vibrates. When you open a hole, the air is released from being trapped in the flute and goes out of that way. the air that vibrates is sometimes called the air-spring, and the shorter it is,the higher it is.
Is the bassoon easier to learn after you've learned to play the flute?
Saxophone is considered to be one of the easier wind instruments to learn. That doesn't mean it's easy, but with decent instruction and reasonable effort, you can learn to play simple melodies in a few weeks and play throughout the primary range of the sax in a year or so. There's always more you can learn, though, and that makes it fun. I've been playing for over twenty years, and I'm still betting better.
What is the value of a gemeinhardt flute serial number m2cs 450948?
Being that the age of this flute is over 50 years, it has probably reached its lifetime. The M2 flutes are a student model as well, also taking a chunk out of its value. Depending on the metals with which it was made, either silver or nickel plated, the value may vary quite a bit. The nickel plated M2's are not as resonant and tend to play fuzzier than the silver variety. However, old flutes do tend to fall into desrepair more often and may be very expensive to bring back to playability. If you are considering purchasing an old M2, I would advise against it. If you are considering upgrading to a newer flute and/or selling your Gemeinhardt, I highly recommend a Yamaha flute. They have a variety of models and a price range for everyone. Your M2 might sell for 100-180 on eBay, again depending on its condition and metals. For more information about the general value of this instrument, try going to eBay or an online dealer of used instruments and check out the going rate for your 1960 instrument. I hope I helped!

What is the highest note a flute can play?
The highest note a modern flute can play is a high F. It is 2 octaves higher than the F written on top line of the staff. The fingering is your 2 middle fingers down along with the D# trill key, no thumb. This note isn't usually written except in very advanced music because it requires a very strong and precise air flow to produce the sound.
How many finger holes does a concert flute have?
Most soprano recorders have 7 tone holes plus the thumb hole, but I have a Russian made instrument with only six tone holes. It's in German fingering and is played like a "D" penny whistle except it has the convenience of the thumb hole to facilitate transition between the registers and to make the high notes easier to play.
Can you use Clorox disinfecting wipes on flute?
You can, but what I always do to avoid the potency of the hand sanitizer is just put some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and spray it on the mouthpiece.

By 1970s, she was internationally famed for being a humanitarian and an advocate for the poor and the helpless and she won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and India's highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna, in 1980 for her humanitarian work. At the time of her death in 1997, Missionaries of Charity was operating 610 missions in 123 countries, including hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis, soup kitchens, children's and family counseling programs, orphanages and schools.
She was praised by many individuals, governments, and organizations, many of which follow in her footsteps to help better the world and helping those in need. However, despite her work, she received a diverse range of criticism including objections by various individuals and groups against the proselytizing focus of her work - a conversion to a new religion or deity. Several medical journals also criticized the standard of medical care in her hospices and concerns were raised in the nature in which donated money was spent.
Despite the criticisms of her work, following her death, she was beatified by Pope John Paul II and given the title Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.
What kind of sound does a flute make?
The flute (and there are a number of varieties of this instrument, by the way) can be heard by using the link to a brief flute performance posted on YouTube.
The sound of the flute is made by the passage of air across a metal edge (tone hole) in the mouthpiece of a tube (in the "classical" or concert flute).
A link is provided to the Wikipedia article on the flute.
I auctually do play the flute. The sound (which does depend on the kind of flute) can be from a high pitch whistle, to a low pitch roar. There are many keys on the flute, which can ary the sound, and the way that you do blow on the mouth piece also can vary the sound. Maybe you should go check i out on youtube, because it is hard to describe. Ther person above gave a description, from what they could do and they also gave sugestions.

A piccolo is just a half-sized flute: that is, a flute that is twice as small as a regular flute. This causes the pitches of the piccolo to be an octave higher when playing the same notes/fingerings as a normal flute.
Other than this, there are some additional technical differences. Flutes are mostly made of sterling or pure silver, while many piccolo players in symphony orchestras prefer wood for its mellow, darker sound. Piccolos also do not have a foot joint, leaving it with only one right pinky button, and tend to have head joints that lock into the body of the piccolo rather than slide into it as a flute head joint would. Some piccolos also do not have lip plates.

How do you take care of your flute?
To polish a flute, you can usually buy a cleaning kit with a yellow cloth you clean it with, take away smudges and any dust that has been collected over time, and then you can get a blue silver polishing cloth that will make it shine. Most of the time, these kits come with a little brush to get into the little areas that are really hard to clean, and pad papers that you clean the key pads with. Just be carefull not to push down too hard when using those, they can mess up your pads and they are really expensive to replace.
If you already know all the technical things needed to play the flute then yes. It is just a little more difficult because it takes more breath support and it requires a tighter mouth positioning. The opening in the mouth (aka apeture but i cant spell it) needs to be substantially smaller and the lips much tighter. Other than that its pretty much a breeze. Be aware though that the super high notes do cause headaches
1) Make a "C" shape with both of your hands, and put the fingertips of your right hand into the curved line of your thumb and first finger of your left hand, and close the heels of both hands together to make a large chamber with a hole by your thumbs.
2) Put your mouth on the hole and blow. See if the chamber is airtight. If it is not, then wiggle your fingers around a bit until you get a large, airtight chamber.
3) Put your thumbs next to each other and bend them slightly, forming a slot between your them. This slot should be the only hole in the flute. Blow on the slot to be sure the chamber is airtight.
4) If your chamber is large and airtight, you are ready to try and make a sound. Put your lower lip on your thumb knuckles. This forms a small upside down "V". This is the whistle hole that makes the sound. The sound comes out of the slot below your lower lip. The sound output hole must be open to let the sound out. If your chin is touching it, the sound can't get out. Raising your elbows up slightly helps keep the sound output hole open.
5) Try to make a sound through the whistle hole. Blow fairly hard. Move your thumbs around very slightly to change the shape of the whistle hole. Keep your chamber air tight.
Some people get this in five minutes, and some people take five weeks.
