In the song "Bargain" by The Who, the repeated line "I'd gladly lose me to find you" foreshadows the singer's willingness to sacrifice his own identity for the person he loves. This sets the stage for the theme of selflessness and devotion that runs throughout the song.

In "A Single Shard" by Linda Sue Park, examples of foreshadowing include Tree-ear's determination to become a potter like Min, hints at the importance of perseverance and hard work, and the challenges he faces on his journey to deliver Min's works to the royal court which indicate the obstacles he will need to overcome in the future.

The names of James's two aunts, Spiker and Sponge, foreshadow their characters in the story. "Spiker" suggests that she might be sharp and mean-spirited, while "Sponge" hints at her absorbent and manipulative nature. These names give readers a clue about the aunts' personalities before they are fully revealed in the story.

In general foreshadowing means to give a sneak peak of what lies ahead. It is most commonly used by authors telling a story giving you clues or hint to what will happen next in said story.

The question is so unclear. Who or what is Rudy?

Napoleon's leadership abilities were foreshadowed by his early military successes, particularly during the Italian campaigns, where his strategic acumen and ability to inspire troops became evident. His organizational skills and innovative tactics, such as the use of artillery and rapid troop movements, set him apart from his contemporaries. Additionally, his ambition and charisma attracted loyal followers, paving the way for his rise to power. These traits hinted at his potential to dominate the political landscape of France and beyond.

If you don't mind some spoilers, I will tell you the ones I have found.

1. When Elphaba has a vision in "The Wizard and I" she says "I swear someday there'll be a celebration throughout Oz that's all to do with me" and that celebration she foresees is the Ozians celebrating her death.

2. Also in "the wizard and I", there is the line "I'd be so happy I could melt". I think that one is self-explanatory for anybody who has seen/read The Wizard of Oz.

3. In "Dancing through Life" Fiyero sings "life is painless for the brainless".He himself becomes brainless when he becomes the Scarecrow.

These are the ones I have figured out on my own, but I know there are many more examples!

Malory foreshadows Arthur's death in "Le Morte d'Arthur" with the title of the story. The title is French for "The Death of Arthur."

My teacher said it was the chess game in the beginning, not sure how to explain it. But I can explain the 2nd foreshadow: Herbert said,"Well, I Don't See The Money, And I Bet I Never Shall." Herbert had to die in order for Mr. White to get the money, so he really DIDN't see the money, like he said.

In the ballad, "Sir Patrick Spens," it speaks of the new moon with the old moon in her arms that the sailors saw the night before they were to set sail. The language used is figurative for a crescent moon and this was a foreshadow that something bad might happen when they sailed. It was a type of superstition.

In "Quitters, Inc." by Stephen King, foreshadowing occurs when the protagonist sees the scars on the faces of other clients at the company, hinting at the severe methods used for quitting smoking. The repeated warnings and threats from the counselor towards the protagonist also foreshadow the extreme consequences he may face if he fails to quit smoking.

After the republican sniper had killed the opposing gunman, the republican sniper begins to wonder if he had killed someone he knew. The republican sniper became curious as to the identity of the man he killed; it was, after all, a civil war, he could've killed a neighbor or an old friend. The republican sniper's thoughts help to foreshadow who the republican sniper had killed

In "What Men Live By," foreshadowing can be seen when the angel Michael advises Simon to think carefully about the meaning of the words "the light shone in the darkness." This hints at the transformative power of love that Simon will later experience when he helps the stranger. Another example is when Simon dreams of washing a naked man, symbolizing the spiritual cleansing and redemption that will come from showing kindness to the stranger.

It foreshadows the coming events of Brutus meeting the ghost of Caesar at Philippi but the true meaning is Brutus's mind getting to him. Brutus soon commits suicide by Strato holding is sword and him running into it because he does not want to surrender to Antony.

The author uses symbolism to foreshadow Doodle's death as shown by Brother's pride, the color red, and the scarlet ibis.

You could also use this as a thesis statement on 'The Scarlet Ibis'.

If John the Baptist had died before Jesus and in somewhat similar circumstances, it could be said that his death foreshadowed the death of Jesus. However, the first-century Jewish historian, Josephus says that John the Baptist was imprisoned in the castle at Macherus, east of the Dead Sea, and executed there for publicly criticising Herod Antipas' marriage to his brother's former wife. The marriage took place in 34 CE and John must have been executed in 35 or 36 CE. The manner and even reason for his death differ from the crucifixion of Jesus, who is traditionally believed to have died in either 30 CE or 33 CE.

There is nothing relevant that John's death could really be said to have foreshadowed.
