Which rainforest produces half of the world's oxygen?
Cathy is right about no rainforest producing half of the world's oxygen, but she is absolutely wrong about plants not providing a significant amount of oxygen. The truth is that 98% of the world's atmospheric oxygen comes from plant life. Half of that 98% comes from phytoplankton in the oceans. The other half comes from plant-life on the surface. So, no individual rain forest can account for anywhere near half of the oxygen. In fact, it is now believed that rain forests are oxygen neutral meaning they use as much as they produce (after all, there are innumerable species and animals in the rain forest).

I don't believe that any rainforest produces anywhere near that amount of oxygen. I am terrible with names, but I had the opportunity to ask a very highly acclaimed and reputable scientist about oxygen-making plants, leaves, etc. His response got my attention. He said that plants do not provide a significant amount of oxygen, and rainforests do not provide a significant amount of oxygen. He said it is a myth that they produce anywhere near a significant amount of oxygen. Probably perpetuated by someone who is trying to save a rainforest, and they are trying to think up reasons why we should think they are valuable and worth saving.
I happen to be a person who loves forests of all kinds, and who wants to see forests instead of shopping malls! However, I love the truth. Very likely the truth about the rainforests is that their greatest value is to provide habitat for marvelous animals and plants. I also believe that people have not fully explored the possibilities inside a rainforest. There are probably new species and varieties of plants, animals, birds, insects, etc. that may potentially be valuable to us.
I believe that a rainforest has a great deal of value to us as the rainforest it is. I don't believe it has much value as a source of oxygen for human beings. But there are so many other great values contained inside the rainforest that I see no reason to try to make up things about it!

What are the best foods to eat if you are lost in the woods?
You can eat leaves and stuff but a lot of it is indigestible. You are not supposed to eat any fruit, nut, or berry you don't recognize. You can test a berry or fruit by taking a piece and touching the inside to your lips. Wait 5-10 minutes. If there is any stinging, swelling, or anything unusual, it is not safe to eat. If it safe to eat, take a little piece and start mashing it in your mouth for a few minutes and swallow. If there is any tingling, stinging, swelling, etc., don't eat it. If it passes this test, it is safe to eat, so you don't have to worry about dropping dead after eating it.
Aforest is located where there are lots of trees and land.
What is the number of trees in Alaska's Kotzebue National Forest?
There is one tree in Kotzebue National Forest. It was planted by the service men who worked at the radar station there in Kotzebue during the cold war. The tree was surrounded by a white picket fence.
The radar station is part of the DEW (Distant Early Warning) line erected in the 1950's. The tree still stands there, surrounded by its white picket fence and an elegant sign announcing that it is the "Kotzebue National Forest". It grows very slowly because the ambient temperature is quite cool. It is, in fact, well north of the timber line, and in an area where trees do not naturally grow. The sign shows a rather more developed tree than can, in fact, be found in the entire forest... as demonstrated below. The DEW station is s few hundred yards to the left of this photo. Incidentally, camping is not allowed in the forest.
a sustainable forest is where people constantly cut down trees for many years and pretend that they own that land to make money
What animals do live in Mediterranean forests?
I'm really not too sure what animals live in the mediterranean biome. I'm sure that there are at least 200 more species of mammal living there than in the UK and i have heard from an expert source that animals have adapted to grow flobonies on their inner tractile tube to cope with the ultra violet ray intake where they live. most mammals now give birth underground where it is cooler because of the rise in temperature due to Global Warming. If anyone could tell me the names of these animals then i would be grateful, and put them in my Scholors Journal which i am currentlywriting. I hope that this new information has helped a few people, and if you need less basic information, please reply to this. From Florence Slerting-Goodtame.

How much rain does Nevada get in a year?
The mountains north and east of Lake Tahoe receive the highest average rates of total precipitation in the state of Nevada. However, other high mountain ranges such as the Ruby Mountains, Jarbidge Mountains, Santa Rosa Range, and Snake Range receive similarly high precipitation due to the orographic effects of elevation. Some higher mountain ranges receive most precipitation as snow in winter, although significant rainfalls may occur from summer thundershowers over the highest peaks, especially during the monsoon season from July through September.

Difference between production and protective forests of Pakistan?
A productive forest is naturally grown whereas a protective forest is mainly planted by people. In the productive forest tree density is usually high and forest canopy is closed. Protective forests include amenity planting alongside roads, parks and railway lines etc. They are usually linear. Productive forests have great commercial value as they provide timer. In contrast to this protective forests have little commercial value as they don not provide any valuable specie of wood. Productive forest's main function is the extraction of timber while protective forests mainly prevent the soil from eroding or blowing away and also keep the environment pleasant by providing shade and keeping the temperature low.
This was my first attempt but i really hope its useful ! :D
Importance of coniferous forests in nature?
it has large roots that can take in alot of water and swelling, this allows these trees to not explode
