Well, there is this boy named Max(who was known as Kicker in day care.) He didnt really have a lot of friends and was fascinated by this other boy "Freak." Freak always carried around crutches and said he was a robot, and Max thought he was cool. So in eighth grade, Freak moved into his neighborhood. And what really caught Max's attention was Freaks knowledge. He had an orthipropritor, (mechanical bird) and it was stuck in a tree, so Max got it for him. Then after that day, they started hanging out and going on adventures and quests and all sorts of things! One of the quests they went on was the back of a medical research building and freak says that he is going to get a new robot body. His mother is fair gwen because she resemmbles queen quinevere from king arther's legends. So him and Max became pals and eventually freak dies because his heart just got too big for his body.(because his body was small.) and that's what kept max in his room in the basement for days and weeks. and after a year, loretta says to him "nothing is a drag kid..think about it."
and there is also a mentioning of max's father being on parole, but i don't know when that happens, although it is an important event.
