What is the distance from earth of a star that has a parallax of 3 seconds?
Assuming this would have been taken in May and January, we have some simple trig to do.
1 second is 1/3600th of a degree, so 1/1200th of a degree is the parallax. We will need to use the diameter of the Earth's orbit, which is about 300 million kilometers. If we draw this, we see that we have an icoseles triangle. We bisect the top angle, which bisects the bottom side. We have two right triangles now, and we can use the sine of 1/2400 of a degree, which is 150,000,000/the distance. We divide this number by 150,000,000, getting 1/distance = 4.848 times 10^-14. We do this answer to the -1 to get an answer for distance, or 2.06*10^13 km, which is equal to 68,754,935 light years. This is for a perfect 3 seconds, so there is obviously a margin of error. However, I am thirteen years old and have never done this before, so it may be wrong. When stuck with a problem like this, my suggestion is to draw a picture.

What is the shape of the galaxy you live on?
The shape of the Milky Way (our galaxy) is the shape of a spiral.
How long the sun remains at one constellation?
It depends on the constellation, as they are different widths. The widest is Virgo, at 42º. Because the year is 365 days and a circle is 360º, each degree approximates one day that the Sun rises in that constellation, so the Sun rises in Virgo for just over 42 days.
The narrowest constellation is Scorpio. At only 5º of the zodiac, the Sun rises in Scorpio a bit over 5 days, statistically.
What is the age of stars in the irregular galaxy?
Sizes vary, of course. A typical size is a few hundred billion (10^11) stars; some of the larger ones can have more than 10^12 stars.
Our galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy and it has somewhere between 200 and 400 billion stars. Andromeda is an even bigger spiral galaxy.
I could not say how many stars the smallest spiral galaxy would have, or how many the largest. There are cases where two spiral galaxies are colliding.
Maybe, it depends on whether or not one of the multiverse compatible theories of everything are correct. The theory that currently has the most support is M-Theory. According to M-Theory our universe is just one membrane among many. So not two, but many more than one.
Where could one find a design to build spiral staircases?
Spiral staircase kits can be found in just about any major home retail stores. You can order them from Lowe's, Home Depot and Ace Hardware. If you choose, you can have them delivered to your local store or to your home.
no everything in the galaxy is spread out evenly so there aren't any giant collisions that are going to happen hope this helps
In light years (how far light travels in a year) light travels at about a billion km/hr.
How long does it take a galaxy to make one full rotation?
millions of years, but it varies with location is the galaxy.
for example in the milky way our solar system orbits once every 225 million years but stars further out orbit slower and those further in orbit faster.
Is there any planet which has water or life?
The only planet known to have water and life is Earth. It is quite possible that other planets orbiting other suns do as well, but we currently cannot determine such details across interstellar distances.
Billions of years ago galaxies existed in?
Galaxies. They are just about the same now as they were then. 14 Billion years ago, astronomers believe that the "Big Bang" created matter from energy, which is how they believe galaxies were formed.
What is wrong with this sentence the milky way is a constellation of many stars?
Well, the Milky Way doesn't only include stars but it includes planets too.
How many stars are in the big and little dippers?
The Big Dipper, Ursa Major, is composed of eight stars. From the "Pointer Stars" on the lip of the ladle to the tip of the handle, they are Dubhe, Merak, Phad, Megrez, Alioth, Alcor and Mizar (a visual binary) and Alkaid. Mizar and Alcor are a "visual double star"; Julius Caesar, the story goes, used this as an eye test for his troops. Some people could see both; most could not.
In the Little Dipper, Ursa Minor, there are seven stars. Polaris at the tip of the handle, is the North Star. Then Yildun, Urodelus, Ahfa al Farkadain, Anwar al Farkadain, Pherkad, and Kochab. Only Polaris and Kochab are brighter than 3rd magnitude.
What is the largest Universe the sun Milky Way galaxy Solar system or the earth?
Universe >> Milky Way galaxy >> Solar System > Sun >> Earth
True or false your galaxy is called the Muddy Way Galaxy?
Our galaxy is commonly referred to as the "Milky Way" galaxy.
What percent of the galaxy does the sun take up?
0
The answer above is essentially correct. Though the sun is very large compared to the earth it is insignificant when compared to the galaxy as a whole. It would be a minute fraction of one percent
This completely depends on the speed of the observed galaxy, the speed of the galaxy the observer resides in, and in which direction both galaxies are moving in relation to each other.
There are too many variables to provide an answer at this time.
How many planets does the comet galaxy have?
It is not generally known how many planets are in each galaxy; it isn't even known how many planets are in our own galaxy, and will probably never be known exactly, due to its enormous size. However, according to latest observations, it seems likely that every star has several planets, at least on average.
