Can panther geckos live with leopard geckos?

Leopard geckos cannot live with panther geckos. Even though care for both are generally the same, there are some huge differences between the two. Leopard geckos are usually between 7 and 10 inches long (some almost a foot), and panthers are 4-6 (or occasionally up to 8) inches long. This size difference alone could do it. The Leopard geckos would pick on the panther geckos.

Also, the climate of the two needs to be very different. Panther geckos live in southern Madagascar naturally, while Leopard geckos live in Afghanistan and neighboring countries. Panther geckos need higher humidity levels than Leopards, and lower temperatures.

Together, either the leopard gecko, or the panther gecko, will suffer, if not both. Please, don't keep these two creatures together. It won't work out well.

I wouldn't recommend it - for the following reasons...

(2) they need completely different living conditions (the gecko would need a much higher temperature range which would be uncomfortable for the anole)

Yes, they can. While the majority of gecko species lay eggs, there are some gecko species that bear live births, in a method known as vivipary or ova-viviparous.

Some species that bear live births include: Naultinus elegans elegans, Rhacodactylus trachyrhynchus, Rhacodactylus trachycephal. In addition, there are approximately 40 gecko species endemic to New Zealand which all give birth to live young. No New Zealand gecko lays eggs.

How many mealworms should you feed your leopard gecko each day?

Feed them two or three medium to large worms at a time. Worms are good for turtles, but they are omnivores and need a varied diet so don't make it the only food. Water turtles will eat cooked shredded meats, meal worms, greens like dark green romaine and dandelion greens, which you can float on the surface of their water (and greens make cute hats, as you'll see if they end up on the turtles head as it emerges from the water) and turtle sticks, which contain vitamins. The same rule goes for box turtles and tortoises, too.

Worms are like candy to turtles and can be harmful if they are the only food, so change it up!

Where are a leopard gecko's ears?

Geckos and other lizards do not have protruding ears, the have small holes in the sides of their heads that pick up sound waves.

How do you give a leopard gecko moisture in its cage?

A crested gecko is a species of gecko that enjoys humidity. This species does not require a bowl of water but instead they enjoy daily mistings. That is a good question, leopard geckos do not have teeth that are easy to see as they are very small and there are lots of them in a row close together. Im pretty sure, you just have to hold him for awhile. i pet mine on the head while he lies in my hand, and when i stop, and he doesnt look around, i figure he must be sleeping...or i rub overtop of his eye (where his eyelid WOULD start) and he doesnt stick them in his head. the question would be sooooo much easier to figure out if they had eyelids lol :(

Why does a geckos tail still move after its been cut off?

From a functional standpoint, the tail twitches to make a predator think it is still 'alive', or a living creature in of itself and cause a distraction so that the gecko itself can escape.

From a biological standpoint, the nerves and muscles in the tail don't just suddenly cease to function, rather, now separated from the central nervous system, the nerves in the tail fire off randomly. This causes the muscles to spasm, and the tail to move.

Why do African fat tail gecko change colors?

All geckos have pigments, when they've been in the lighting for a longer time or depending on the time of day, these pigments will be darker or lighter. African Fat tails are nocturnal and usually between the times of 10Pm-4Am the geckos pigments are at their brightest. Breeders refer to this as being "Fired up"

Throughout the day, depending on the geckos mood, and how much light it's received, the geckos pigments will change.
