Can you mix green anoles with house geckos?

Answer:

Yes you can, They both require the same exact care. Same Humidity levels, same food source, same everything. I right now have 1 house gecko and 1 Green anole and have had NO issues, they even hang out together on the same rock or in the same tree every now and then. one difference and i think its why there is no issue is, House Geckos are nocturnal, while Anoles arent so they dont get in eachothers way. One main warning. MAKE SURE BOTH ARE FEMALE OR ONE IS A MALE AT LEAST!!!! if both are males, this could be a big problem. both species both houe geckos and anole males are highly territorial, while females not so much. So go ahead as long as the tank is big enough to house them together its ok, as long as both are female and the tank is big enough (probably a tank double of what you would find at a pet store).

Why did your crested gecko turn white?

The animals is more than likely about to shed. When the animal is about the shed, they usually turn a pale coloration, this is the old skin on top that is molting from the body. An animal must be provided a humid hide or a dampened area in order for the skin to become moist, this will provide a healthy shed for the animal. Geckos will use their surroundings in order to aid in the shedding process, they will seek out branches, rocks, cork barks etc.. to rub against to peal the shed from the body. Typically a full grown crested gecko will shed every 20-40 days.

Can you use a leopard gecko kit for a panther gecko?

The leopard gecko kit being sold at most pet stores usually consist of:

A 10 Gallon tank

Sand for substrate

2-3 Deco's

1 Hide

1waterbowl

1 food dish

You can use it for a panther gecko because panther geckos are very adaptable and can be kept in a desert or a tropical set-up, but I reccomend a mix. What I would do is buy the kit and buy some eco earth to mix in with the sand and there you go panther gecko set up!

Do geckos like to stay in the shade or the sun?

Depending on the species will determine how much sunlight the gecko enjoys. Species such as the crested gecko cannot withstand temperatures higher than 80F. How warm does a Leopard gecko's vivarium have to be?

The warm side of the vivarium should be between 87 and 92 degrees Fahrenheit, and the cool side is preferably 80 degrees, but room temperature (about 70-75) should be fine too.

Remember that leopard geckos digest using the heat of the ground, not air temperature, so under the tank heaters (heating pads) are preferable to heat lamps.

Accuracy and consistency are important. They're hardy reptiles, but if kept in an improper or unstable environment, even if they're fine for a few years, will eventually make them sickly. So use a digital thermometer with a probe taped to the hottest spot in the cage to measure, and either use a plug in lamp dimmer or a thermostat to adjust the heat output.
