Yes, but only very, very tiny pieces and every once in a while. NEVER give them alot of red apples or ANY green apples unless you want to make them very sick- and if a gerbil gets sick, it crashes (and possibly dies).
The green apples are too sour for them, and large amounts of red apple, or given to the gerbil frequently, can cause them to crash from too much sugar, which could kill them and any small animal.
It depends on the breed of dog. Larger breeds will probably just ignore a gerbil, but smaller breeds, ie rat terriers and some others may hunt a small animal like a gerbil because they were originally bred to hunt rats.
How can you help a dieing gerbil?
i love animals of all kind, but my friend had put her hamster down b/c it was very ill and suffering. What she did is put it is a bag, turned on her car and put the bag over the exhaust pipe. Not sure if that helps, hope so tho. Nothing deserves to suffer.
What do you do when you have a bloody nose?
You stop it. Simple. There are many ways to stop it. If you have lots of paper (napkins, toilet paper, tissues), you should blow your nose first to get the blood out. Then, you can lean backwords and pinch your nose in between your eyes, but some say that that makes the blood go to your throat. You can also lean forward and pinch your nose hard so it hurts to try to stop it, or pinch your nose at the bottom, or pinch it lightly. Pinch for a short while and check the blood. Then, when the blood is gone, put vaseline in your nose.

My book on Gerbils says that you can only give cereals that are plain, have low sugar and no corn, so you can find more edible cereals by just looking on the side of any packet of relatively plain cereal. Just check it has no corn in it and that it doesn't have too much salt.

They are very good climbers are jumpers. The don't often climb, but when they do it is quite impressive. Just be careful that they wont hurt themselves if they fall!
They will climb up your jumper onto your shoulder. some will just sit there, others will crawl onto your back, be careful not to squash them, and if you're nervous about that, just try and make sure they don't climb on you too much!

Because you haven't bathed it of course! whenever your gerbils start stinking, get a dog food bowl of some sort, and put some chinchilla sand in there. You can buy some from a local pet store. Your gerbil rolls around in the sand and it removes all the oily and greases and poop and everything else that's been in there fur from there body, and there fur will feel much softer also. What kind of veggies can gerbils eat?
You can feed them all sorts: carrot, brocoli, apple, banana, cabbage, lettuce, pumpkin seed, sunflower seed (not many of these they are very fatty), peas, beans, sweetcorn, tomatoe, peppers and cucumber. Anything else... I wouldn't experiment because that might give them a stomach bug.

Another suggestion is raisins and grapes! Not too many of any fruit or veg, otherwise they will get the runs, which wont be pleasant! (not experienced this myself though) from experience, i know that (my) gerbils love grapes, raisins, pumpkin seeds and brocolli, they also enjoy sweetcorn, raw or dried. Never give them potato! this is highly poisonous! another no is rhubard!
you also can feed them pretty much any thing that is like lettuce and the top part of green onions or just some celery
