Is marlwood school haunted?

This is sort of a difficult question to properly answer. There is an actual Marlwood school that doesn't seem to have any on-line reports of any type of hauntings. However, there is also some books based off a fictional Marlwood Academy that is haunted. So if it is based off the book series - yes. However, if not, there is nothing that I can find on the actual school being haunted.

If ghosts don't exist why do some people claim they saw ghosts?

Philosophically speaking, if i told you that i saw pixies every time i walk out my door to go to work, there are many explanations:

  • I might be lying for attention.
  • I might have been dreaming and reinforced the idea that it did happen (false memories).
  • I might be schizophrenic and not know it.
  • There could have been a phenomenon that me or my brain misinterpreted (lights and shadows playing tricks on me, or an explainable phenomenon which I'm not familiar with).
  • someone else might be playing practical jokes on me.
  • Pixies really do exist.

Yes, it possible that pixies really do exist, but the evidence is against it. There are plenty other explanations which are far more likely to have happened. Additionally, there is no known mechanism for pixies to exist, and if there was they would be far more common and far more commonly reported.

This argument could also be applied to ghosts, Bigfoot, aliens and even gods.

Think about it.

Ghosts can sometimes be real, then again, most people just send pictures and films that aren't real and most people believe that they are.

Human nature. Something strange happens that I can't explain. I start to consider possibilities, and decide that some kind of spirit or ghost experience is the best answer. Ghosts aren't real; they are just different parts of ourselves that show in some startling and even painful ways from time to time.

True what the first man said. If they did exist then why wouldn't they be giving useful information and possibly having fun to do instead of scaring the crap out of people and doing pointless things?

it depends if you believe in them then your one of those people who've gotten proof
_____________________________________________________________________

First of all with the initial "answer", if you said you saw pixies EVERY time you walk to work, maybe someone should walk with you next time, so you could point it out.

Anyway, every christian I've ever met (not necessarily every christian) believes that when you die, your consciousness "goes" to one of two places, which would make it impossible for them to believe "you" go anywhere else. However, the ancient Hebrews did not believe in an "immortal soul" at all. They believed when you die, you're "sleeping". (Ps 13:3, Jn 11:11-13, 2 Chr 32:33), total unconsciousness and unawareness at death, hence being like sleep. Now you could assume that they were ignorant in believing this, but modern christian belief requires an even bigger assumption. Of course that alone doesn't make either correct, but science can prove that when someone dies, they're dead.

For one to claim they saw a ghost, they'd have to at least be able to explain what a ghost is first. If I said I saw a "hoopajoob" you might ask, what's a hoopajoob? Then I would have to explain what it was or at least what I thought it was. Then there would have to exist some evidence to support or refute my claim, whether or not it's known evidence. Now, if there was such a thing as a ghosts, most people would assume that a ghost is or once was a person that died and is now conscious in a housing of some kind that is not a human body. How many people have died throughout history? I think there was a study that showed that as many people that live now is about how many people died in the last 6,000 years. For the sake of argument it should be safe to assume that billions of people have lived and died on the Earth. Now with those kinds of numbers, you would think there would be plenty of test subjects to experiment with what a ghost actually is.

Now let's say that there are certain "rules" in play to "make" one a ghost or to produce a ghost in general. What are those rules? Everything that happens over and over without fail under the same circumstances has a law of science associated with it. (like 2 + 2 always equals 4 and never anything else) There would have to be ways to make sure that when someone dies they would "become" a ghost. My point is, there ARE no scientific laws to support the existence of that definition of ghosts. I'm not sure if there's any scientific law of "any" definition of ghosts.

Sorry for the lengthy comment, but to answer your question, people "say" lot of things. I've heard numerous people say they've seen Hell, but every claim either contradicts others or itself. Everyone says something different. People say they've seen aliens, but most of the claims describe these "aliens" differently, or their "spaceships" look different, or whatever. Whether or not anyone is lying, imagining things, etc., do you really think that any "conscious" being would only be able to appear to people for seconds at a time and only do the same thing (eg walk down a hallway) over and over throughout their "existence"? That would be a pretty torturous way of existing, wouldn't it? Those are the only claims I've heard about anyway, but they're all vague and inconsistent. I agree with the above statement about peoples constant claims about "ghosts" doing nothing but pointless things.

Personally, I believe that when you're dead, you're dead. You're not "alive" somewhere else. You're dead in the grave. Modern christian beliefs in an immortal soul and judgment before resurrection were adopted from the ancient Egyptians "place" of the dead to be judged called Amenti.

Can ghosts turn lights on?

yes they can they can do anything

Another viewpoint:

It is a human tendency to interpret any mysterious occurrence to supernatural entities. Before we understood that thunder is caused by electrical charges jumping between storm clouds, people explained the frightening sound as giants throwing rocks or as gods driving their chariots. In exactly the same way, if the lights in a building suddenly turn on or off, and you don't think that anyone turned the switch, it is very easy to jump to the conclusion that a ghost is responsible. It is much more likely that some living person turned on the lights, or that there is a "short" or flaw in the electrical system.

How can you find out if your house is haunted?

If you think your house is haunted, you should first try to determine if anything else can be attributed to what you think is a haunting. Instead of being haunted, can their be a natural reason for everything? Instead of being haunted, could someone be casting a spell on you?

If your house is without a doubt haunted, then ask yourself if the spirits are good or bad.

If they are good, you don't have to do anything. They may even be guardians there to protect you.

If they are bad, you should get help. Don't try to exorcise the house on your own. If they are powerful, you could get hurt. Go to someone you are comfortable with that is experienced in these things.

Not many people are around that deal with hauntings, so it may be difficult to find someone. If you can't find anyone to exorcise the spirits out, then focus on protecting yourself. Make sure not to use any sketchy means of protecting yourself, as this will backfire on you.

Can you believe in ghost and spirits and not believe in God?

As a person who neither believes in ghosts and spirits nor God, I can still see it as a rational possibility to believe in ghosts and spirits but not God - just as it is rationally possible to believe in God but not ghosts and perhaps not even spirits.

It is also possible to believe in ghosts and spirits as well as other gods, but not the abrahamic God.

It is up to you what you believe, as long as you can rationalise your own beliefs and do no harm to others.

Yes, you can believe in Ghosts (or spirits) and not of god. I have had experienced with Ghost [Energy] but not of a god.
