The beeping noise is your computer's error sound. It in fact has nothing to do with GIMP. It won't beep when you give your computer something to backspace.

if green is 82% of red

and blue is 91% of green

you'll get a pretty good skin color.

First open your photo and then goto the "Image" tab and select "Mode" and click "RGB"

You need two pictures open in GIMP at once.

Select the head.

Copy it (under 'edit').

Paste it on the second picture.

Do whatever you need to do to match colors and size.

It would seem you cannot. However, you can select the "move" tool (up/down/left/right blue arrow tool) and it will work like a pointer.

I agree, even of the functionality of the "move" tool and the regular pointer are virtually identical, the context is different and a regular pointer tool option would be a welcome addition for many.

I assume you mean after pasting an image into gimp. Right-click on the layer in the layer box, and click "new layer" that will put the image on it's own layer.

To create a glow effect behind an object that is a separate layer than your background, first duplicate that layer. Then, selecting the bottom layer, go to colors > colorize and pull the lightness to 100 so that the duplicate is white. Click 'OK' and then go to filters > blur > blur. The image should have a white glow behind it now.

3. Determine if the clone is to be aligned or not (aligned the source move with the mouse not aligned the source stays put and you can clone that part to many areas of the image)
4. Place the mouse pointer at the location of the source that you want to copy

you can do a lot of things in gimp including the fact that gimp is free just type in gimp and download it from the website then look up tutorials on youtube.

Depending on which stitch you want to use, you usually hold 2 pieces of gimp at the middle and start folding the lower strands over the upper ones, then fold them in. See the link for more details

To generate a gradient of your image, use the Blend Tool, just left of the pencil. Click and hold the mouse on your image where the color should be darkest and drag it to indicate the direction for the gradient to fade in. To fade an entire image, put a solid white layer behind all the others. Then, in the Layers dialog, click the layer to be faded and lower its opacity as desired.
