Common uses of graphic design include magazines, advertisements, product packaging and web design. For example, a product package might include a logo or other artwork, organized text and pure design elements such as shapes and color which unify the piece. Composition is one of the most important features of graphic design especially when using pre-existing materials or diverse elements.

A graphic designer is a professional who creates visual content for various media platforms, including print, digital, and social media. Their work can include designing logos, layouts, websites, packaging, product design, and branding materials.

Graphic designers use a combination of software tools and creativity to produce original designs that convey a specific message or idea. They often work closely with clients or art directors to determine project requirements, including audience, purpose, and medium.

Some of the typical tasks performed by graphic designers include:

1. Developing and refining design concepts and ideas to create visual representations of a message or brand.

Gimp is completely free,

it is even more: gimp is open source.

Using Screen Dash you can combine 2 images to make them one image. All you simply do is upload or screenshot the first image, then using the image tool add the second image. Then crop and position the image the way you like and save or instantly image host.

It's not as complicated as some would think, although it does take some time to get good at it. There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube that could help you out.

Personally I prefer the free-hand select (third one in),

or to hit the ruby filter and use the eraser.

This has happened to me too; quite a lot. It is likely that the program had crushed. Sadly there isn't a possible way to reload it, so you may have to say goodbye to your work :( The only way to get rid of the program is to turn off your computer.

The newest version of GIMP can be found at GIMP.org. It's usually the program offered at the top of the page. Right now the newest version is GIMP 2.6.

Uninstalling GIMP is just like uninstalling any other program (if you have Windows). Go to start > control panel > uninstall a program (under Programs). Scroll down the list and click on GIMP and then click uninstall. An uninstall wizard should pop up that will uninstall the program. Wait until it's done uninstalling and it's removed from the programs list. Then you can exit out the window and GIMP should be gone.

right-click on the layer

click "Alpha to selection

make sure that the Foreground colour is black

click on the colour fill tool

click inside the text

go to Select->Shrink

choose about 3 pixels

press ok

press delete in on your keyboard

I assume you are trying to create a solid bar or rounded line that has a glowing neon effect, though this simple strategy can be applied to virtually any one-color design.

To begin, open a blank document. Create a new layer filled with transparency. Draw your desired line. You can use any sort of one-color image, but I prefer to draw the lines with the paintbrush. It's simple and effective.

Once you have achieved your desired outline, use the menus at the top and select "Filters". Select "Alpha to Logo" in the drop-down menu and then select one called "Neon".

A dialogue box will appear. Simply fill in your desired glow and background colors and click OK.

Voila. This will render your neon line.

Simply click on the Brush icon and select one of the brushes.

When you have your desired image open, there will be a menu bar at the top beginning with drop-down options like "File", "Edit", "Select", etc. One of these menus is called "Image". Click this and you will see a list of options, including one called "Scale Image". Select this.

Once you have selected it, a "Scale Image" dialogue box will pop up. You can set it to a certain number of pixels or you can scale by percent, picas, inches, etc.

Note: By default, your image will scale evenly. That is to say, if you enter 50% as your X scale, your Y will automatically change to 50%. To stop this feature and distort the image by scaling on the X or the Y, click on the chain. It will appear unlinked once you have done so. To reverse this, just click it again and it will link.

Click OK when you have entered your desired scale size.

You're done!

To use GIMP's healing tool, identify the blemish you would like to remove. This works best on small areas of the image that are discolored. Next, identify a more desirable texture or color that you would like to mask the blemish with. For example, if I were editing a girl's portrait and I wanted to remove a blemish on her nose, I would select a patch of nearby skin that matched in color.

To select the "patch", hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click the desired area. Let go of the Ctrl key and move your cursor over the blemish. Click to insert the patch onto the blemish.

Keep trying at the healing tool. It can be hard to master in some scenarios, but you will soon be a pro. It is a versatile tool that I use on virtually all of my photos, be they landscapes, portraits, macros; you name it!
