He graduated from Ripon College, and started his own business when he moved to Freeport just after the depression. His business was a humor magazine that he marketed to firms nationally, which firms would turn it into their "house organ" to send to their customers. He carried on this business for over 60 years, publishing his first book at age 92. The book is titled, "Glasow's Gloombusters," one of the many titles he put on his work during his career. He was cited frequently in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, the Chicago Tribune and many other major organs. He was a regular contributor to the humor sections of Reader's Digest. Sixty years of productive work. Many attributions. A real American thinker, self-effacing and generous of spirit, he shunned the national spotlight.

How do you get from Glasgow Central railway station to Glasgow airport?

A taxi rank is located directly in front of Central Station and a taxi would be able to take you directly to the airport.

Alternatively, turn right on leaving the front entrance to the station and go briefly along Gordon Street until you reach the junction. Turn left up Renfield Street and continue until you come to St Vincent Street - it's not much more than 200 yards. Turn left again and you will find a bus stop used by the two competing airport bus services. The one operated by Arriva goes direct to the airport whereas the one operated by First goes round by the Scottish Exhibition Centre and is rather slower. You can also catch these buses at Buchanan Bus Station, but it's a much longer walk.

You could also get one of the frequent trains from Glasgow Central to Paisley Gilmour Street, then get a taxi from there to the Airport or catch the local bus which goes there via Shortroods. A direct rail route from Glasgow Central to Glasgow International Airport is currently under construction and will open in 2011.
