A 2.13 is very slightly above average. It is not good or bad it is just a bit above average.

Well according to the admissions office, they required a minimum of a 2.5 on a GPA scale of 4, but that was for graduate programs.. I have no idea what is the required GPA for undergraduate degrees..

I'm not sure if you mean a good GPA to get into an Economics department at a good college or if you are referring to a good GPA that is attained while majoring in economics. Because of the way you worded the question, I am going to assume you meant the latter.

Generally speaking, Economics is considered one of the more difficult (but not the most) majors in higher education; it typically involves the use of various theories and models unintelligible to the average person and requires some degree of algebraic aptitude. The required knowledge of algebra is often overstated at the undergraduate level, but make no mistake: a very strong ability in upper level math (including Calculus) is required to succeed in economic study at the graduate level.

The average GPA listed in Economics is 2.95 (while the average GPA in say, English, is 3.3), implying it is more difficult to attain a higher GPA in the major. In order to be competitive, assuming you wish to go to graduate school, you will need to perform notably above average.

If Economics is what interests you, don't be intimidated! Most people who just put some effort into the coursework will be able to understand it.

However, individual professors have said he was an "A" student in their classes at Columbia, and we do know he graduated in the top 10% at Harvard Law School, receiving academic honors.

An AP class is just the same as honors classes. An A is 5, B is 4, C is 3, and D is 2. So the highest a person can get taking all AP classes is 5.0

Usually a 28-32 on the ACT and a 1300 or higher on the SAT are expected to gain acceptance to scholarship programs for major universities. As for GPAs it depends. Usually most honors college require a 3.5 GPA, but it can vary do to the weighting and difficulty of schools.

A 4.1 will equal about a 8 or 8. 5 or somewhere in those ranges. Anywhere from 8 to 9 is where a 4 to a maximum of 5 will be. If you have further questions concerning this then contact someone who has been through the process of college or somewhere close.

I, as a student at Georgetown would say you would have to have at least a 3.7 to 4.0 with a number of clubs/sports. Plus an outstanding SAT. Oh and yes i did know Roy Hibbert.

2.0 but thats just apply. Possibly accepted if living in LA County 2.4 and up. Not living 2.8 and up. If your from LA county above a 2.7 and up your chances are probably good. Anything above 3.0 I'm sure you can get in.
