There's always a great deal of speculation on the game sites regarding this subject, but there does not yet appear to be any confirmation of the release date, location, setting or layout of the next main GTA game, which would be GTA 5. There will be the 2010 E3 Expo in Los Angeles in mid June this year, so with a bit of luck there may be more clues to the next game. Another idea is to check with gaming websites regularly, to see if they have more news. Some of them will actually send you regular newsletters via email, for example: gamespot.

grand theft auto iv has made many improvements to gameplay, graphics, storyline and mission creativity. you still get to shoot the brains out of anyone at anytime for any reason, but there are major downfalls. gta4 is more realistic, but saying that gta:sa is more fun, mainly due to cheats, mini-games, gang wars etc. However the map and cops differ, by more than it may appear at first sight. Stars (from cops) are easier to obtain, but also easier to get rid of. Secondly, the map is not wasted in gta4 (except perhaps charge island) as in gta:sa (e.g. the giant desert where there are no vehicles, and when your car cathes fire there's no way to go anywhere =/).

Variety: gta4 has a lot of variety in neighbourhoods, characters you meet, and missions and gta:sa has more variety in weapons and vehicles. There's no flamethrowers, planes, or fun cheats in gta4 to add an effect or realism. Sucks, I know... The protagonist (Niko Bellic) is however by FAR the best one of them all as he has an awesome sense of humour, and both an angel and devil sitting on each shoulder respectively, which helps with his decision-making hugely.

Get to Second Island at Start of Game: Grab a PCJ, take the unique jump to get into the film studio. In the back, where the Skimmer would be, there is a Packer. Position the packer facing the wall just to the right of the water tower. Then drive your PCJ at full speed up the packer's ramp. You will jump over the wall and land on the bridge on main island side. Find $1000 for the skumhole shack and you can play all you want without ever starting a mission. (It will take a few tries to get the Packer's positioning correct.)

Note: Once on the second island, you can use the VCN Helicopter to get anywhere you want to go. Just walk through the front door of the VCN building.
