Five kilometers to the east of Shanhaiguan, the starting point of the Great Wall dips into the sea like a dragon's head. It varies for different people. Some people think it is a source of national pride and show what the Chinese can do and construct, rivaling that of the Pyramids and other ancient wonders of the world. Many however, feel that it is an enormous waste of Human lives and resources (Forced Labour is used to construct the wall) and a colossal failure (It failed to stop the Manchu from conquering China because a traitorous General open the gates and let them in).
