First published in 1960, Green Eggs and Ham is one of the most popular books written by Dr. Seuss. The reluctant and unnamed narrator of the story is running from the character, Sam. Sam is very insistent that the narrator tries a new food, green eggs and ham. The book was written after Seuss made a bet with his publisher that he could not write a book using only fifty words. Seuss succeeded. Although the total word was 225 words, it was done with various combination of the same fifty.
