It will get sick and it might die. It depends on the amount of citrus and the age of the gerbil. Some gerbils also might be allergic to it, so do not feed it citrus at all.

Experts usually recommend about 5 or 6 months old for a first litter of babies. Many people say that guinea pigs can't have babies after 8 months old, but this is extreme. I would recommend breeding your guinea pig before one year old. After you have bred it once, provided it was young when you did so, you can breed it again, regardless of it's age.

When petting a guinea pig you should sit it on your lap facing you so it cant run off. Guinea pigs HATE being stroked on their bottoms. But they LOVE being stroked on their heads..... Some guinea pigs LOVE being stroked under their chin or the underneath of them.... your question didnt really make sense

I believe that it is a possibility for them to be allergic to the aspen bedding. That or it is too dusty for them. I have two piggies and one of them sneezes when i use aspen bedding, but the other is perfectly fine. I hope that it isn't anything more serious than needing to buy a different type of bedding.

I even had guinea pigs and a rabbit when I was younger and my parents wouldn't house them together. The rabbit is stronger and can kill a guinea pig just by kicking it, accidentally or purposefully.

No. (I am not 100% though. I'm no vet ;} ) They are not like cows who have four stomachs and chew cud. What guinea pigs do constantly do is eat their fresh droppings to get all the nutrients that they need because they can't produce vitamin C, like rabbits. Although it is still good to give them some vitamin C drops of tablets.

My guinea pig had this and i was so worried! I took mine to the vet who said that if it's in the wee it may just be colouring from carrots, tomatoes, anything red but if it's definitely bleeding it could be due to the guinea pig mix you are using, the dark pellets in guinea pig food are hard to digest which causes hard stools... well... "giant guinea pigs" are actually called capybara and are closely related to guinea pigs the live in the amazon rainforest in south american and feed mostly on grasses and aquatic plants they have web toes and are about 4 feet long and live in packs.

As, an owner of a short-haired guinea pig, I can say that grooming is relatively cheap. I simply use a mild baby shampoo and a soft baby brush on the pig once a month.

They don't necessarily need more fat, but more nutirition from a good quality pellets like Oxbow's Cavy Cuisine (or even their cavy performance food that is alfalfa based so it has more calcium for the pups' growing bones, though alfalfa based foods aren't good for guinea pigs over 6 months anyways), unlimited ammounts of hay, lots of fresh greens like romaine lettuce/swiss chard/kale/spinach/ect..., and fresh clean water.

You can always buy products designed for one species for another, but it may not make sense: a Guinea pig's diet is different from a hedgehog's, so most edible items will be unsuitable. However, hey or wood chips used for bedding will suit both species, and so will some other products, such as hiding places made from natural materials.

You can open a little door in the front of the cage and then put a towel inside a cat carrier and put that at the end of the door and by putting treats down the door your guinea pig should be smart enough to go to the cat carrier because of the treats

i currently have eight cats and five rabbits so i know what im saying when i say cats are easier. they are more self efficient, eat less ... of a variety of food, do not stink to the high heavens when kept inside, and do not have to be checked on once to twice a day. they just need food water toys and ur lap to curl up on at night. even though they shed.
