1 gallon per fish for guppies in a regular tank, so just buy a breeding box at Petsmart or something and put the pregnant fish in when you think she's about to give birth and take her out immediatly when she's given birth. Note: guppies give live birth and do not lay eggs.

It is most unlikely that you will ever breed Neon Tetras. They are a very difficult fish to breed. One spawning can produce several hundred fry.

If you have a female guppy, and then you see that she has lost size and you have some small fish in with it that you didn't put in there, I can assure you that you would probably be correct if you assume that your Guppy has given birth.

There are two kinds of 'albino' catfish commonly seen in aquariums. One is the albino channel catfish....which will grow to be VERY LARGE and will eat anything it can put in its gaping mouth...the other kind is the albino corydoras catfish. You will not be able to find tetra eggs without some type of magnification. The infertile ova will go whitish (fungus) within the first 24 hours of being spawned.

You either separate them from potential predators or you provide them with heaps of adequate cover and hiding places.

Guppies, like all fish, have gills and breath oxygen that is in the water. I have observed though guppies going to the top of a tank for surface air and surviving by doing this.

only one or two flakes depends on how many you have...but when you change guppies water be very careful because they go in shock a lot and die i used to have 4 guppies now i have 1 : ( your guppies can live long or short depends if you take good care of them : ) NEVER ever put them in a tank with big fish or there mom or dad cause they will eat there own babies cause there so small they look like food to them ...how often do you feed your guppies twice a day they are very tiny but need food to help them grow...they dont need such a big tank...also if you are on a vacation and leave your guppy at home it will die after 2 weeks...those are the basic guppie questions... : ) i hope they answered many or your questions : )

You're sure it's an oscar? Those things are opportunistic predators--basically, they'll eat anything that will fit in their mouths.

Seriously, though, some cichlids don't like to eat guppies for whatever reason. They don't NEED to eat live fish, and a lot of fish experts say not to feed live fish. So...if it won't eat guppies but it will eat chopped beef heart, earthworms, cichlid pellets or whatever else you're feeding him, I would just not put any more guppies in there.

Fish are not humans and do not get "depressed" as humans do. The problem you have is most likely the fact that your water is in bad condition because you are not following the basic rules of fishkeeping. Ammonia in the water is probably what killed the female guppy and the male is most likely very sick and if something is not done soon will join her in death too. My advice is first do a water change then learn and follow the rules. The rules are. :- 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water changed every week. Keep the above rules and your fish stand a chance. Fail in any of them and I can guarantee that you will have constant health problems with your fish.
