H2O: Just Add Water is an Australian TV series that is about 3 young girls (Emma, Rikki and Cleo) who journey to a mysterious island called Mako Island on the night of a Full Moon and upon their dip into the island's moon pool, they turn into mermaids. Now as half human/half mermaid beings, they have to continue with their normal lives while trying to keep their mermaid part a secret.

There is no real place in Australia called Mako Island. It is not a "real place" as in a named, populated spot on the planet. It has been animated and all the underwater scenes are filmed at Sea World on the Gold Coast. Mako Island is a fictitious place made specifically for the TV shows.

At the end of Season 2, Emma, Rikki and Cleo used their mermaid powers and defeated Charlotte by changing her back to human at the Moon Pool during a rare full moon alignment in which the planets were aligned with it which gave the Moon Pool the ability to remove a mermaid's powers and because the Moon Pool removed Charlotte's powers she was never seen again.

No, they are not filming at the moment.. Season 3 is the last season as of right now... when Jonathan M. Shiff possibly opens more offices, He may do a movie to tie that series together... Right now, Mako Mermaids (the spinoff) is filming it's Season 2 & they should have 3 seasons as well. You can find both series on Netflix. ☺️
