It is considered Halal but it also is not, they're is an ongoing debate about weather prawns and lobsters are 'meat' or not. While they do come from an animal, meat is meant to be just farm animals.

There is no definite answer to this question since Lecithin (which is an emulsifier) may be derived form either plant (i.e. soy lecithin) - or animal source. Here in Germany it is specifically written if the lecithin is derived from soy beans (= soy lecithin). If only "lecithin" is written on the product, one has to ensure (f.e. by contacting the producer) whether its derived from animal or plant-source. The fuqahaa' are agreed that it is not permitted to keep a dog unless it is for a purpose, like hunting or guarding property or other uses that are not contrary to the Sharee'ah. The Prophet (peace and blessing of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for herding, hunting or farming, his reward will decrease by one qiraat every day." (Reported by Muslim, 2948)

As far as keeping a dog to guard the house is concerned, Ibn Qudaamah said: "It is not permitted, according to the most sound opinion." (al-Mawsoo'ah al-Fiqhiyyah, 35/124)

As regards the najaasah (impurity) of the dog, the Shaafi'i and Hanbali 'ulamaa' say that the whole dog is essentially naajis (impure). Some scholars say that any liquid excreted by the dog is naajis (not the dog itself). The saliva of the dog is extremely naajis, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "If a dog licks the vessel of any one of you, let him throw away whatever was in it and wash it seven times." (Reported by Muslim, no. 418).

Abu Hurayrah, may Allaah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The way to purify the vessel of any one of you if a dog has licked it is to wash it seven times, the first time with earth." (Reported by Muslim, no. 420).

Camel should be slaughtered by specific Islamic method to then its meat and Halal parts can be eaten. Not all parts of Camel are Halal (allowed to eat in Islam).

In certa countries i.e Malaysia, the level of ethanol in food ingredients is permitted to a certain level (which do not cause intoxication to the end user) which is 0.5% maximum. This refer to ethanol used as carriers for flavouring or colouring. Provided these ethanol are produced as mentioned above for halal ethanol. Any level of ethanol used which can cause intoxication is haram even if it is from a halal source.

YES. Guinea pigs and capybara, although they both are referred to by the word "khanazir" (خنزير), in Arabic, meaning "pig" are rodents and there is no prohibition on eating them. (Specifically, the word for guinea pig is "khanazir ghiniya" - خنزير غينيا and the word for capybara is "khanazir al-maa2" - خنزير الماء or literally "pig of the water".) The word "pig" in the name has no bearing on whether it is permitted or forbidden.

Of course, since the guinea pig and capybara are New World animals, there are no early sources in Islam that discuss them, but they are usually compared by Faqihs (Islamic Jurists) to a common Arabian animal called a "webr" (وبر) -- usually translated as a rock hyrax -- due to the similar shape and size (even tough rock hyraxes are not taxonomically related to rodents like the guinea pig and capybara).

Islamic Jurist Ibn Qudamah al-Muqdisi explicitly permits consumption of the "webr" because of its similarity to rabbits and consumption purely of plant matter.

E471 is not haram if it is plant based. E471 can arrive from plant or animal.

However, to know if it arrives from animal or plant, that is not easy as most of the time, the food product that we buy won't mention the source of E471.

So, the conclusion here is, E471 can be halal, it can be haram. It all depends on its source. =)

Yes it is and everyone is alowed to eat it even though it has a picture of a penguin i doubt it that your not allowed to eat it just because of the picture.
