The head must be facing Mecca . You must say bissmilahi rahmanir rahim before you start. You must cut it half way on the neck saying allah huakbar. For every cut. The animal must bleed to death. The animal must be away from other animals so they can't hear or see the slaughter. Hope this helps!

yes it is ok to keep a dog, but make sure it doesnt go near your prayer room or touch your prayer cloths or any cloths you pray with, a dog is to be called 'najiss', also if you touch a dog it is acceptable but make sure to wash your hands, to wash the 'najasseh' off. A dog is perfect to guard you, but maybe not inside the house, maybe kept outside and take good care of the dog, it is harram to abuse animals or neglect their health and ect.

So long it is not mentioned in the holy Quran or in prophet's Sunnah as Haram "Prohibited" such as ham, alcohols, blood ... etc... then it is Halal even if cooked by Christians or Jews. We can eat from their food and meant which they slaughter.

Allah said in the Quran:

and prophet Mohammed peace upon him said:

قوله صلى الله عليه وسلم { ما أحل الله فهو حلال وما حرم فهو حرام وما سكت عنه فهو عفو ، فاقبلوا من الله عافيته فإن الله لم يكن لينسى شيئا }أخرجه البزار والطبراني من حديث أبي الدرداء بسند حسن

In prophet's hadith, the prophet said: What Allah has permitted is "Halal"", what Allah has prohibited is "Haram" and what Allah has skipped is pardoned "Pardoned". So accept what Allah has pardoned you from since Allah is not a forgetful. Narrated by Tabarani.

Answering whether emulsifiers are Halal can be tricky.

Generally, emulsifiers are a general class of chemicals/additives that are used by food and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Just to name a few, emulsifiers may be used as an anti-coagulant, anti-foaming, anti-caking, preservatives, bulking and etc....Therefore for most industrial production, the need for emulsifiers are extremely critical.

They may either be written in code numbers Eg: E471, E200, E572 etc... Or the other form is the actual chemical name itself Eg: Soya Lecithin, Sorbic Acid, Sodium Acetate, etc....

The production method for each emulsifier differs. Some emulsifiers are derived from animals or plants while others are fully synthetic. In some situations, an emulsifier with the same chemical name may be produced with different methods of production and source material in rival production houses. This is usually based on efficiency issues and the availability of source materials.

Therefore, it is best to go for food that have been certified HALAL as best as you can, as these food (even the emulsifiers that have been used in production) have been checked and verified by an authorised and trusted personnel.

We can also check with the organization that produces the food items. Big organizations usually have a dedicated team to answer all your queries. It is our consumer right to know what we have bought and consume.
