Why do you suppose that king Claudius is so irritated by Hamlets persistent grief and melancholy?
He'd like everyone to forget all about King Hamlet. That way, nobody will wonder whether he died of a snakebite as was reported or not. The less people think about King Hamlet, the safer Claudius is. But Hamlet keeps on bringing it up.

In act 1 scene 4 what facts emerge from Hamlet's conversation with Horatio?
It's after midnight and it's cold out, but the King is still partying, firing off cannons and having trumpets play when he drinks. This is customary, which is probably why he is doing it, but Hamlet does not approve, probably because it is Claudius doing it. Nothing Claudius does is likely to look good to Hamlet. Hamlet also expresses the idea that people seek out the worst in others and condemn them on that basis. Some people have seen this as an endorsement of the "tragic flaw" theory, but this only proves that they are failing to listen, read or, most likely, think clearly.
Why is Hamlet less present in Act 4 than in the previous three?

Why does Gertrude marry so quickly in Hamlet after her husbands death?
Some folks have speculated that Gertrude is the type of woman who will quickly gravitate to the most powerful man around. When Hamlet Sr. died, the most powerful person was Claudius so she gravitated to him.
Others might say that things were pretty far advanced between Claudius and Gertrude before the murder and so it was a short step from there to marriage. Claudius says, "I am still possessed of those effects for which I did the murder: my crown, my own ambition, and my queen." Being able to marry Gertrude was clearly part of his motive for the murder so he must have known beforehand that he would get somewhere with her.

Is it wrong to have vile thoughts about your stepfather and to think about killing him?
If he hasn't done anything to you to evoke that kind of response, yes, it's not only wrong but a little nuts. Maybe you should talk to a counselor. No matter what another human does to you it's against not only the law to murder that person, but what divides us as good human beings from becoming like those that chose to harm, maim, rape, sexually abuse, murder, etc. If you are sexually abused or beaten there is help out there for you. If your stepfather disgusts you for reasons of your own such as making you take responsibility, coming home in good time, telling you what friends aren't great to hang around with or do chores around the house, then this is not a good reason to even utter the word "murder", but making you become responsible for your own life. If you are a minor you can seek legal counsel and perhaps live with a relative and if you aren't a minor then you have the control over yourself to get out on your own. I highly suggest as the other poster said that you seek counseling. It appears you are filled with rage and perhaps you have good reason, or, perhaps it is you that needs to simmer down and get some control over yourself. The world is full of rules so get use to it!
