If your hamster is very naughty I would say leave it for abut 3 - 5 days, I know BORING!!! Then slowly open the cage and hold a carrot piece in front of it, be patient, it will slowly start trusting you and come over, if it bites you do NOT make any sudden movements, if it does bite you:

So give it a treat and wait for it to come over.
Continue the process for about 3-6 days.
After that you can open the cage slowly come up to it call its name and then stroke it if it bites continue the process before this one for another 3 days if it still continues take the animal to the vet to be checked.
