Will cold temperatures damage led tv?
Cold temperatures can sometimes affect the operating speed of the liquid crystals but they won't damage the television. Within a few minutes the temperature will rise to a normal operating temperature.
Generally, viewers will suffer from cold temperatures a long time before the television suffers from the cold.
What is the best flat screen tv?
There are lots of good televisions out there. Your two basic choices aee SDTV (standard definition television) and HDTV (High Definition television). SDTVs are fairly straightforward and you don't really have to consider a whole lot, just input types and size. HDTV on the other hand can be a bit confusing, but there are guides out there that can get you started. How come Samsung 3D TV s have flickers if they are so expensive?
Check batteries in the glasses and make sure the glasses are properly paired to the television. Make sure they are set up according to the manufacturer's instructions and the flicker is likely to be eliminated.
True
it's not necessarily better. it is brighter than lcd, which is why contrast ratios shoot up well over the 150k:1 ratio for lcd. they are also incredibly thin and lightweight. true led TVs, or oled TVs have each individual pixel lit up, while most consumer led TVs use fluorescent light bars to produce a picture. this lets them show more colors and be a bit better for darker colors. however the leds lose a lot of viewing angle when vied from the side.
Is satellite TV clearer than cable TV?
Satellite TV is a huge style dish made in the 90's usually but is the same as Dish Network and Directv. Also Satellite TV is another way of bringing you your network and local and favorite channels without having to pay a corporate company such as Cableone or Classic or COX or Cambridge.
Dish Network and Directv or DTV.. the differences in these two are simple... Basically here's the deal Dish Network runs of 6 Great Huge Satellites but only uses 2 to 3 depending on your local stations. Directv uses 4 satellites but they are overloaded with 20 million customers and cause Directv to pixelate or lose signal while Dish Network can hold 20 million and not pixelate or lose signal. Another huge deal between them are the dishes and storms. Dish Net can withstand 100mph winds and still not lose a signal DTV can withstand 100mph and lose signal constantly... The main deal here is the design of the dishes the switches and such and also a main factor is who installed them and the ends..
Price, channel choice, how many trees to cut down. Ask the suppliers, they will answer your questions faster then this forum.
Lets not forget the free to air sats, They offer alot of good stuff to watch that is free and i mean free(sports and education are the bulk here)
Here is a website you can reference comparing the two. http://www.dishtvreviews.com/
What produces the light in lcd tv?
Cathode Ray Tube
Light is produced when electrons emitted from the back of the tube strike the front of the screen, and light up the phosphor coating .
Plasma
Excitation of a gas by high voltage
LCD
Cold cathode florescent lamps, placed behind the LCD screen
LCD LED
White LED's placed behind the LCD screen
OLED
Light emitting diodes. Light is generated by passing current across a PN junction of specially doped material, which causes electrons to change valence level and emit light.
How do you set your cable box from 480 you to 1080i?
If the HDTV is the 1080p type, it should switch automatically.
Can you connect a high definition box to a tv that is not high definition?
If it has the correct connectors, yes, but the picture won't be much better. The picture will not be any better than the weakest link in the chain. In this case the decoder and the TV.
Can you play an HD DVD in a Blu-ray player?
The introduction of high definition discs saw two formats launched. Bluray is one and HD DVD was the other. The format war was won by the Bluray system and HD DVD was withdrawn in 2009.
Both Bluray and HD DVD are high definition players but note that "HD DVD" is the name of the format and is confusingly close to the generic description of high definition disc players.
Bluray and HD DVD are not compatible so a disc of one type will not play on the other format. There are a handful of dual format disc players but they were expensive and few were sold. If you have HD DVD discs then you need to hand on to an HD DVD player if you want to watch them. All high definition discs on sale now are Bluray and of course will need a Bluray player to play them.
How do you hook up your comcast cable box to Vizio?
Thru the component or HIMI cables. Any less will not be HD.
Sony Blu-ray player do you need HDMI cables to have better quality?
You can also use the component cables (the 5 cables with the green, blue etc) This will make it in 1080i. The naked eye can tell zero difference between 1080p & 1080i. The p stand for progressive & the i for interlaced. Both are high quality HDTV. The HDMI & 1080p is newer & considered to be the best though.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the brand new A/V solution that brings a whole new entourage of features to your home theater. You do not have to worry about cables getting tangled, since a HDMI cable is compacted of audio and video interface that is transmitted within one cable.
It transmits high-definition video signals up to 1080p resolution, and 5.1 surround sound audio including the high-definition audio formats available on Blu-ray.
How do you transport a flat screen TV?
Is a plasma television dangerous?
This is one of the wilder myths about Plasma TV! A tiny amount of UV radiation comes out of a Plasma display (you can measure it up to one inch from the screen).
The tube television you put your nose on while you watched cartoons in the seventies form an image by shooting radiation at the screen! Radiation from a tube TV floods more than one foot into the room! You probably have several of these TVs in your house right now!
You can read more myths about plasma tv's here: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/10-biggest-myths-lies-about-plasma-tv.html
Can you play CD's on a Blu-ray?
Generally, yes. A BD player is "backwards compatible", meaning that, in addition to Blu-ray disks, it will play regular DVDs and audio CDs.
How do you connect a DVD player to a tv?
You connect a DVD player to a TV via a scart cable and a composite or HDMI cable. If using a composite cable, ensure that the colors on the plug match up with those of the audio and video jacks.
Do blu ray players play audio CD?

Is there a remote code for Olevia 232?
Such codes are generated by the universal remote manufacturer rather than the TV manufacturer. As such, the actual codes will differ from one remote to another. Regretfully, Olevia TV's (for the most part) use proprietary infrared frequencies. This means that the code for another TV brand will not work with Olevia TV's. If you are looking for a universal remote, Olevia made a learning remote (model RC-LRN). Amergence Technology Inc. sells them for 39.99. They can be reached at 866-965-3842.
Can use LG 3D glasses on a Samsung 3D TV?

Are the items sold on Shop at Home TV really good deals?
Shop At Home- Does not answer the mail, or phone, or email. No they are not. Heaven forbid if you have a problem. You would think you were trying to contact the Pope, while only trying to reach a SAH customer service supervisor. Some products are better than others. I have purchased 3rd party graded coins, which were fine. The opinion was not subjective, it was established by NGC or PCGS. My biggest problem with SAH is an item I purchased and never received just prior to their sale to Jewelry TV from Scripps. I have never received the NGC MS-70 Gold American coin. Nor did I ever receive a refund. The company does not back, cover or otherwise respond to anything the company did before the sell. Others, like myself, never received what they ordered and customer service refuses to let you even speak to a supervisor. Shame on them! Tony
Will your computer damage a plasma TV?
While not a "sure" thing, using a plasma television as a monitor is very likely to damage the set. This is because computers often have static, or non-changing, images displayed on them (like your Taskbar or Dock). This causes burn-in when displayed for longer than 20 minutes on a plasma television.
However, using it as a display as probably acceptable if you are playing an action-packed video game or watching a movie.
What is the maximum video resolution for composite video cables?
There are two answers for this question. The first deals with composite signals and the second deals with cable. So...
Answer one.
Composite signals carry color video as a single signal. The resolution is limited to 480 lines or 576 lines because they are the two standard definition line counts. The signals are below 6MHz and are analog. There is no composite signal that carries HD signals.
Answer two
The cable that carries composite signals is generally fairly poor quality but is sufficient for short links between a DVD and a television for example. Longer runs need a co-ax cable designed to run video signals. The cable is identified as a 75 Ohm cable, that being a characteristic of the cable required for standard video transmission.
Although there are many different grades of co-ax cable, a reasonable quality cable is capable of running any composite signal and will also run digital video in standard and high definition as well. Most video signals use the same type of cable so strictly speaking, there is no such cable as "composite".
What is LCD and how does it work?
In a LCD TV, liquid crystals are sandwiched between two transparent electrodes and two polarizing filters. In other words, liquid crystals (most often in nematic phase) are packed between two glass plates. Two grids of electrodes (one is horizontally aligned and another is vertically aligned) contact either side of the crystals. The job of this network of electrodes is to access each pixel of the crystal layer and control the electric flow.
Liquid crystals are not luminious by themselves and it is the backlight device made of fluorescent lamps which give off the light behind them. The light of the backlight is then diffused by a white panel before passing through the liquid crystals. This white panel ensures that the entire surface of the screen gets uniform brightness. The front panel of LCD is made up of a grid of wires which are in contact with each pixel of the screen and activate it separately.
With in network of crystals, each molecule functions like a gate to open or close the passage of light through them depending on the voltage of the current. To produce bright display, the voltage is kept low while for dark details the voltage is increased. By nature, liquid crystals always allow a smaller amount of light to pass through them making the pure black levels somewhat impossible.
What is the difference between LCD televisions and DLP TVs?
Answer: Unlike Plasma TV screens DLP and LCD last much are longer, and are considered to both have superior image quality. LCD screens tend to have slightly better contrast, with a larger range of black and white color shades. DLP, however, still has faster refresh rates than LCD (although LCD has been vastly improved in this area over the last two years). This can have implications if you are really into high-action motion (sports, action movies), because movement may seem a little blurred with LCD at times. Also, you'll want to remember that in order for you to get the best color out of your LCD, you have to sit right in front of it. LCD TVs also have a slightly shorter lifespan than DLPs, with only 45,000 to 60,000 hours compared to 75,000 hours or more. As far as price goes, LCD and DLP are still more expensive than Plasma, but like all things in time, their price has been coming down. And right now, DLP is slightly more expensive than LCD, but not by much. DLP, in our eyes, is the best investment, at least for the next few years.
The biggest difference is that DLP is a projection technology. Most TVs do not use projection screens.
