Why doesnt your sony Blu-ray player resume play?
Most likely because the resume play option cannot be accessed at the point the disc was stopped or that the Blu-Ray player does not have a built-in memory storage (Some players have a built-in SD card-like device that will remember at what point the movie was stopped. But a player without the card will not have that ability to remember the stopping point)
Are there different types of 3D TV glasses?
Yes, there are. First kind is those that you have to plug in to charge the battery. They use something called shutter system and when your left eye sees an image, your right eye receives a completely black frame and vice versa. This causes the flickering and blurring of the image and it's pretty bad for your eye health. These glasses are also heavy and expensive. The other kind is the Cinema 3D glasses. They are battery free and lightwieght 3D glasses. They don't use shutter system, generating flicker free and crosstalk free 3D images. They are also way more cheaper.
Why do most TV stations broadcast in narrow screen?
There are currently two aspect ratios used in television broadcasting. 4 : 3 is the early standard and has been around for decades. 16 : 9 is the widescreen format and is far more recent. The UK and Germany have adopted 16 : 9 as a standard over the past decade and virtually all program content is produced as widescreen. Other European countries are following suit.
North America, on the other hand, has not moved to widescreen for standard definition television. Almost all SD content is produced in the 4 : 3 aspect ratio.
High definition is exclusively widescreen. Any HD broadcast will be in 16 : 9 format. In Europe, this does not demand any change in the screen format because of the move to widescreen some years ago. North America is now seeing the change in television screen formats to accomodate HD but most programs are still in SD - leaving a gap at the sides of the image when viewed on an HD screen.
As more programs are broadcast in HD, so the problem will fade away but it is safe to say that the format differences will be evident for some years to come.

Is the HD DVD player compatible with a regular tv?
Added by yubslide:
I just bought an HD DVD drive for the Xbox 360 the other day. I have a standard def television (480i) with component capabilities. (this allows for 480p resolution, which is known as EDTV or Enhanced Definition TV) In standard definition or SDTV mode, there isn't much difference from regular DVD's EXCEPT the fact that the black level is improved and the color and effects run smoother. However, when I view the HD DVD's from EDTV, the change was fantastic. The picture is clearer, the colors much more defined and the separation of objects and characters in the movie is amazing (for example, in King Kong, you can see the individual plants and their color is the true color, like you're actually there. In SDTV mode, the jungle looks more like a green mass with squiggly lines through it. So to jump to the conclusion of whether it works on an SDTV or not: yes. The only advantage, which is a very verysmall one I might add, is that you can access your menu while the movie is playing. Like I said, very small. So if you are just dying to get an HD DVD player, shoot for the HDTV, or if you are on an extremely low budget like me and saving money for something big is way too hard for you, atleast get an EDTV before you get an HD DVD player.
Why the people more prefer LG 3D TV over samsung 3d TV. How are they different?
The question assumes that more people prefer LG over Samsung. It is no more than an assumption and not backed by data.
LG uses passive 3D systems. The result is that the effective resolution is cut to 540 lines rather than full 1080 line.
Samsung use active systems. They offer full resolution but the image is alternated between the left and right eye.
Which is best? That is up to each buyer. Make sure you see both technologies before making a decision.
Dude! As you've passion for videogame, I would suggest you to go for a full HD LCD TV if you can afford. It offers best picture & sound quality, that's I believe adequate for your gaming purpose.
Does using a split RF connector reduce the quality of the picture?
As today's RF signals for television are almost all digital, here is the answer for digital signals.
Whenever an RF signal is split using a passive splitter (one that does not have a power supply) the strength of the signal will be reduced. The signal strength is actually not important above a certain threshold. When a receiver has sufficient signal strength on the RF input, it will extract the digital data without error. A stronger signal does not make the picture quality any better.
The same applies if the signal gets weaker. The image does not deteriorate in any way at all unless the RF signal strength falls below the minimum level needed by the receiver. If that happens, the receiver will see data that has errors in it. The errors mean picture or sound corruption and very quickly, as the signal strength falls further, the image will just disappear completely.
As signal conditions vary from one area to another, and from one home to another, the quickest way to find out if a passive splitter will work. They are only a few dollars so you won't waste lots of money. If a passive splitter doesn't work, then a powered RF distribution amplifier may be the answer. If you are in any doubt, talk to a local aerial and satellite installation company. They will have good experience of your location and will be able to give far better advice than this very general answer.
