I understand the position you're in, but if I were you I'd tell your mum quickly, because if you lie to her or hold it back it may just get worse, and if she finds out soon you'll probably never be able to have a sleepover EVER again. Where as if you tell her now, you might have a slight chance of getting in a few more sleepovers. Go on and tell your mum or you'll be grounded forever. Springtails do not normally infest human hair. A normal washing with regular shampoo should get rid of any that have happened into your hair accidentally.

I suppose you could, but I wouldn't suggest it. The shampoo can be harsh on the hair. Unless you're extremely worried, I would just suggest you watch who uses your hair things and watch out for excessive scalp itching, especially in the nape area. If you are very worried, then get the shampoo and use it as directed and run the nit comb thoroughly through your hair.

It depends. If the nit is at the end of you hair then no it is not back. Lice can only live for 24 hours. But if the nit is within 1 1/2 inches from your scalp then you have a good chance that it is back.

Nothing it will just make the lice run to a different area in your hair and sometimes if their small enough your ears but that hardly ever happens just use lice removal shampoo to rid of them
