What was the original purpose of breeding the paint horse?

When the American Quarter Horse Association was founded there were limits on the amount of white markings a horse could have. At that time it was felt that white feet for instance were weaker than dark colored feet (now proven not to be the case) and white faces were more prone to sunburn (true) and that blue eyes were a sign of blindness or weakness (not the case). There were many stockhorse type horses that had good working backgrounds but had too much white to be registered with AQHA. Later on the people who liked the horses with lots of white and felt that they were equal to the QH in ability formed their own association, the American Paint Horse Association. Since the QH breeders occasionally produced a foal with more white than AQHA allowed these were accepted into the Paint association as "cropout" Paints. Both associations only allow QH or TB cross breeding. A couple of years ago the AQHA changed their rules to make them more of a bloodline breed and allowed any horse within the Paint association that could prove all registered QH background (those cropouts) could also be registered as a QH since it was QH by bloodline. This has created the interesting situation of colored QH's (which are not allowed to show in the halter classes in AQHA shows since the amount of white they have is still considered to be not desirable) and horses that are registered with both associations. Within the Paint world there is one pattern that never goes back to all QH ancestry, the tobiano pattern. As a result of this no horse, even solids or overo's resulting from tobiano or tovero breeding, can be double registered with the AQHA.

Your mare tries to bite and kick you when you touch her stomach under her flanks is she pregnant?

Aggressive behavior like biting and kicking can be a sign of discomfort or pain, but it does not necessarily mean that the mare is pregnant. It's important to have a veterinarian examine the mare to rule out any medical issues or evaluate her reproductive status. If she is pregnant, behavior changes could be due to hormonal fluctuations or physical discomfort associated with the pregnancy.

What happens when you take birth control at different times?

You risk having it fail. Birth control works by having a constant level of synthetic hormones that prevent your ovaries from preparing/releasing eggs (known as ovulation). If you take the pill at different times each day, you risk having the levels of synthetic hormone drop and allowing an egg to be released (and possibly allowing yourself to become pregnant).

At what age do friesians stop breeding?

Friesians can continue breeding up to their late teens, but fertility may decline with age. It's best to consult with a veterinarian or equine reproductive specialist to determine the most suitable breeding age for individual Friesian horses based on their health and reproductive condition.

How many times can horses breed?

This depends on the mare and her condition. Usually, it's fine for the mare to be bred up until she's in her early 20s. Anything past this should be considered with a vet's approval first. Generally, larger breeds aren't able to do this, so think twice before breeding your draft horse once she hits 18 or so.

The mare will get tired and then unable to give birth. There is a danger the foal is at a strange angle and stuck. If the foal gets starved of oxygen it could become brain damaged so good luck act now and I hope all is well.

What does a 7 inch penis look like?

7 inches is above average, so on the big side. You would not want it any bigger. Too big can be awkward for having sexual intercourse. Bigger might be more visually stimulating for some women but not all. 6 inches erect is considered average.

If you are measuring it correctly, along the top side looking down, abdomen to tip, then 7 inches is above average.

What if you breed a black horse to a gray horse?

What color would the foal be?

I can't give you an exact answer, unless both the dam and sire have been DNA tested. However, I can give you a rough idea:

If the grey horse has one grey parent, the foal has a 50/50 chance of being grey. If the grey horse has two grey parents, the foal will either have a 50/50 chance of being grey, or a 100% chance of being grey (impossible to know without DNA testing).

Now, if the foal isn't grey, it could potentially be just about any color on the planet without knowing what genes the dam and sire carry.

How do I Calculate mare's foaling date?

To calculate a mare's estimated foaling date, you can use the mare's last breeding date as a reference point. A mare typically has a gestation period of around 11 months (340 days), so you can add this to the last breeding date to estimate the foaling date. It's also a good practice to have a veterinarian confirm the pregnancy and monitor the mare's progress.

Which season is it common to breeding your horse?

As long as a male horse is horney (a stallion) he is able to stick it in. However, he will not get "turned on" unless in the presence of a mare who is wet. Mares go into heat twice a year: in the spring and summer. A mare is in horny for around 4-10 days and exact times vary from horse to horse.

How long is the pregnancy term for a horse?

The average is from 340 to 342 days (which is equivalent to around 11 months long), but there can be a month or more in variation. The mare actually has the ability of postponing the birth if she is not comfortable with her surroundings., and this can be as long as 12 months sometimes. Occaisonally a mare will give birth at a shorter period than 11 months long, which can be at 10.5 months. Anytime before that foals that are born are deemed premature.

On average, 340 days but a healthy gestation can be as few as 315 days and as much as 370.

The gestational period of a horse is 11 months.
11 to 12 months all deppeand on the mare I had a mare go to 13 month before dropping.
A horse's gestation period is about three hundred forty days, or about eleven months.
Horses have an 11 month gestation period
Around 11 months :)
A normal pregnancy in horses lasts approximately 11 months - around 340 days. Colt foals tend to be carried longer than fillies. 12
