First - you would have to get the permission of the court to change your residence location before you can even think of your confinement being transferred. I would think not, however. Primarily because it involves your wearing or carrying a GPS transmitter that is monitored by your local authorities.

What is verbal house arrest?

'Verbal' house arrest is very similar to house arrest. You are not to go anywhere, other than what the judge allows. Usually, you can go to school, work, or anywhere with a parent or legal guardian. I believe, but do not quote me, that this is more for minors, over adults. I do not know if the same is for adults but my son was issued Verbalhouse arrest. In the ruling, by the magistrate, he is allowed to go to school. It is OK that he walk home, if myself, my husband, or anyone else I deem responsible, can not pick him up from school. We live about 5 miles from school. It means he is NOTallowed to be anywhere in the community without a parent or an adult that we deem responsible. He is not to have any friends in our home. He is not allowed to smoke, drink, or do drugs. He is ordered to random urine testings.

I sure hope this helps. I was looking for a more 'formal' definition to print to my son, who is 16, because he thinks he can go to a friends house. Even though, I know differently! Good luck!

Another View: Not enough information is given with which to answer the question. Generally speaking a verbal order is not legally enforceable for any extended period of time. A house arrest for a longer period of time cannot be enforced without a WRITTEN court order, which the detainee would also receive a copy of.

My suggestion is: Determine WHO issued this verbal order and WHY. Then contact them to determine what is going on.

What is the range of house arrest monitor?

Well, it depends mostly on line of sight, so if there's a ton of crap in between you and the monitor, it won't let you go so far. For example I live in the basement of a walkout, and I can go all the way out in the front yard because my monitor is in the basement near a window, but I can't make it to the garage in the back of the house because there's a foundation wall and like 5 feet of dirt for the signal to penetrate. I'd say you could probably be 50 ft away if there's clear line of sight. Maybe more depending on your equipment.

To be sure of your range and allow yourself maximum movement: open your house's window's so you can hear the phone WHEN they call (they will) and then just do random stuff outside at ever increasing distances. Keep rough track of what time it is when you're outside, and do things in increments.

When they call and tell you you were out of range ask what time you were "out", and then give a good excuse (I just got the mail!?!) so you don't get in trouble, and then where ever you were at the mentioned time is not your limit, it's BEYOND your limit.

What is the range of sentinel house arrest bracelet?

The range of your sentinel house arrest bracelet depends on a few things.

1. Placement of the transmitter (the box that you plug into power and a phone line).

2. Construction of your home. For instance, if you live in an apartment building or high rise tower that has several floors most of the construction is out of steel and concrete. This can affect the range. I live in a single family home made of wood frame and drywall and can easily get outside to at least my drive way without my monitor setting off triggers.

3. Your computer router can also affect the range and should be at least 8 feet away from the placement of your transmitter. The farther the better.

Some things I have learned about my monitor since I had it put on.

1. There are three lights on it. Red, Yellow and Green. Flashing Red means you need to charge it. Solid red means you either over charged it or have a problem with it. I had mine replaced once for this reason. Green means you have set of the trigger. Green and Yellow flashing means you are transmitting a violation.

2. Over charging the monitor can cause the light to come on and stay on solid red and make you have to go back to your PO to get it reset or a new one. They say you only need to charge it for an hour and a half every 12 hours.

3. They do not detect drugs. Some detect alcohol such as the SCRAM but the big grey sentinel one does not. I know for sure!

4. Be nice to your PO this will get you a long way. And after all they can violate you at anytime for whatever reason.

This information is correct!

What are procedure for attaching ankle bracelet after sentenced to house arrest?

This is how it works in Wisconsin so it's really just speculation since I don't know what state you're in or procedure in other states. When you are sentenced here you leave the courthouse/jail and go to Justice Sanctions. They attach the bracelet and send you home with your electronic monitoring box. Usually it has to be linked to what they call a POTS line (plain old telephone service: meaning no voicemail, call waiting, ect.) You call Justice Sanctions and notify them you connected it and bam. Welcome to your life indoors.

Can you go on your patio while under house arrest?

Generally the Probation Officer who monitors your house arrest will specific the distance you can travel outside your house. Most will be lenient enough to set controls to allow you out onto a normal sized patio.

If you feel your to restricted you may wish to approach the judge and ask for your boundaries to be extended enough as to sit on your patio.

Also, they often tend to allow you enough distance outside to mow your lawn. But this distance is factored in when setting the controls on your monitor.

How do you remove g4s house arrest bracelet?

All you need it a small flat tip screw driver. use it to gently lift the circle piece, then remove the piece by pulling it away from the device. Now you will need to push the flat tip into the hole you just uncovered until the plastic rod comes free. Now you have two pieces, but you will need the screw driver to remove the 2 screws that hold your band in a continuous loop. Reassembly is the same thing except the last step is first, so on so forth. I do not know if taking the device apart will open a closed circuit, thereby alerting escape.
